ubiquitous
Guys I won the bid on this 16520 case: 271178513766 Do u guys think it's gen? Ehhh... Serial is out of range, my friend A 16520's s/n should start with a letter; i.e. the first 1652x was an R serial.
ubiquitous
First picture of the serial is from the wrong watch. Second one with L44... is correct. Okay, that's better. L serial places this around 1989 or so...
ghost
R, do u think it's kosher? Thx everyone, I dunno how to proceed now though
ubiquitous
Based on what I see, it looks good. If you can find an early floating Cosmo dial and pair it with a 200 Units @ 3:00 bezel, you'll have a very desirable watch.
freddy333
Seller in Italy. Low number of previous sales (mostly bezels & mid-cases - items without trademarks). Could be camera angle, but position of tube looks off-center between CGs. No pics of crown side. Could be legit, but, based on what I see, I would not have bid any higher than the value of a good rep case for this.

omgiv
I received some pictures from the seller and the tube looked centered to me. What I wasn't too crazy about was the fact the same case was sold on 3/11 for $2000 and change. If the case matches the pictures I got from him, I believe it is a genuine mid case. think7
The seller had 2 16520 mid cases. I bought one of them (still working on an all gen 16520 project) via private messaging on ebay. I got it yesterday and promptly took it to RSC beverly hills. They called me this morning and said it was genuine. Does anyone know if it will fit the 803B SEL? Mine is also an "L" serial which had the non SEL.
ghost
Rsc verifies empty cases?
think7
RSC Beverly Hills did. I was very polite and said I obtained the case in a lot of parts from a retired watchmaker. The gentleman named Justin took the case from me, and the next day called me and said yes it was and I could pick it up anytime.
freddy333
My, that is a 1st. Are you an A-list movie star or something? I was not aware that any US RSC's performed authentications or accepted loose parts for any reason.

freddy333
Dude can I have it sent to u so u can help me verify? How sweet would that be If you want to pay me the same flat fee that BH charges to accept a watch for service, I will be happy to accept your money (& case). But you are going to get the same answer I (& someone responding to your post on VRF) already gave you (gratis), dude.

omgiv
That is not even funny. Please tell me there is something else in that box to throw off customs. I hope that this mistake quickly gets fixed. I am interested to hear how this works out. Please keep us posted.
