I picked this up for the 1560 movement, and thought the case was stainless. (Bad lighting in the pic made it look yellow.) turns out it has a butterfly rotor, and the patina on the Second hand is sweet.

Turns out, I bought a pretty nice 1014. I'm puzzled by the gold though. It only appears on the front of the case. The back is stainless. (Like a shell?)

I'm looking to use the movement in one of 2-3 other builds I'm working on (mainly a 1016) but the case is real purdy. The part that creeps me out is the serial starts with 666. (Not all that religious, but I am superstitious.)

Nice :)

As far as I know...when the caseback is SS, the case is only gold plated. Only the full gold cases do have a gold caseback too.

I believe the 1560 and 1570 are the same size. This doesn't have a DW and will be used on a 1016 (or space dweller) build. The DW was just extra parts I'd pull off anyway.

those old cases were gold capped, I bought a case set (1024) and mymanmatt built a really nice watch for my wife with the gen Airking dial, and a DG movement. He put it on a gold plated "President" bracelet and it made a really nice little watch. A little too small (34mm) for me, but perfect for her.

They are exactly the same size.

Different escapements...18000 vs 19800.

Btw...the gold cap cases are about 80 microns of gold and the bezels are solid gold.

Looks like the big brother to my 1024...

They are 18K gold capped cases, supposedly more durable in tropical climates according to the folks at VRF.

Mine came from my Great-Uncle, it's from the early-60's.
