projectologist Posted July 28, 2013 Report Posted July 28, 2013 (edited) I got this PreV 203/A dial awhile ago but it came with FGD's off-white lume and was abit lumpy. But the font is the correct thickness and has the subtle/almost there serif font. So nice. So I decided to see if I could paint-fill the indices with a more obvious shade of yellowed patina. I'm happy how it turned out (although I did have to go back in with a micro riffler file and smooth out the indices a bit). You can see the original lumpy surfaces in the last pic where I had been test different shades of yellow. Eventually the case will get the correct PVD coating that is correct for this dial. Still testing colors in pic below... note the original lumpy/gritty paint fill I ended up smoothing out. Edited July 28, 2013 by projectologist
rizasalahudin Posted July 28, 2013 Report Posted July 28, 2013 Great work!! May I know what kind of paint that use for it? Have the dial been matted too? I'm bout to do the same thing to my 202a project.. Cheers
spankster23 Posted July 29, 2013 Report Posted July 29, 2013 That's a really nice job! I have been looming back plates for a while now, and haven't tackled the indices and numbers from the front. I have a 24d I want to re-lume. I'm not sure I have steady enough hands
w0lf Posted July 30, 2013 Report Posted July 30, 2013 These dials are getting a new lease on life here!
