Fighter jets have been sighted sweeping the skies. For the first time in a hundred years the military are allowed to (if the police give the order) take down civilians. If you feel like you're under siege, just think about the folks who live and work in downtown Washington DC, they endure street closures, traffic barricades almost on a daily basis. All protests were peaceful. The police only had to interfere once when pro-Assad and anti-Assad protesters got quite close to each others.
