I decided to keep things more simple than usual and instead of an additional Explorer I opted for a silver dial 1002. I had tried to fit an eta 2879, but it was a no go. I ended up using a spare Asian 2836 I had kicking around, which I suppose I will trade in for a 2846 sometime in the future. The bummer about the 2879 is that the stem is a different tap than that of an eta 2836, 2824, etc, so it ended up ruining my gen 5.3 crown I weighed my options and decided instead of purchasing another 5.3mm crown I would drill and retap the case for a gen 6mm crown of which I have a few. That caseback sticker is probably the only thing that saved this case from becoming a gilt dialed 5500 Explorer. With the other 34mm boys:
