fraggle42 Posted December 18, 2013 Author Report Posted December 18, 2013 Frag42 Having seen your wristie with the Armida I had to get myself one A different colour combo or the same? I love this one, two different bezels and three different straps came with it, so lots of combinations to play with
dannesyd Posted December 18, 2013 Report Posted December 18, 2013 Yea markie like that is going to happen! Nice one ain't it Dan about one grand, maybe in the spring after I recover from Christmas shopping! It really is! How do the Glycines feel qualitywise? Haven't seen them in any watch store in sweden so never held one.
Mike on a bike Posted December 18, 2013 Report Posted December 18, 2013 Second one but same model as seen above , both were top notch out of the box with Valjoux 7750 but have not been able to give it the test of time on the wrist yet.
markiemark Posted December 19, 2013 Report Posted December 19, 2013 I really like that Glycine, too bad I cant pull of a watch brand that sounds like a coughing medicine...
Nanuq Posted December 19, 2013 Report Posted December 19, 2013 There are dozens of vintage divers out there that I'd love to have. And they're all very inexpensive. Eterna Kon-Tiki Zodiac Sea Wolf Certina DS-2 PH200M Jenny Caribbean Squale Master 100m Cyma Divingstar 1500 Longines Legend Compressor Blancpain 1000m Barakuda Fortis Marinemaster Super Compressor Doxa SUB 300 .....and on and on and on..........
fraggle42 Posted December 19, 2013 Author Report Posted December 19, 2013 Another interesting one I've found http://www.ritmomundo.com/collection/quantum/quantum-ii-small-red
Nightwatch Posted December 20, 2013 Report Posted December 20, 2013 Steinhart way also: This one http://www.steinhartwatches.de/en/OCEAN-1-VINTAGE-red,191.html , this one http://www.steinhartwatches.de/en/GMT-OCEAN-1-BLACK-RED,10.html or this one http://www.steinhartwatches.de/en/OCEAN-vintage-Military-,477.html For those that cost 10 - 20 reps 2nd hand only true, reliable diver watches with all papers and full service history.
Mike on a bike Posted December 20, 2013 Report Posted December 20, 2013 Really liking this one unfortunatly a quartz but just the same sharp.
fraggle42 Posted December 21, 2013 Author Report Posted December 21, 2013 Ooooh.... god this is nice Only 42mm though, would be even perfecter at 45mm. https://shop.laco.de/en/Classics/Laco-Used-Look-861785.html
maevit4996 Posted December 28, 2013 Report Posted December 28, 2013 Archimede Pilot 42 Bronze at around $700. I just really want a bronze case watch that will patina and age.
fraggle42 Posted December 28, 2013 Author Report Posted December 28, 2013 Archimede Pilot 42 Bronze at around $700. I just really want a bronze case watch that will patina and age. Maevit, look at the Armidas. They have very nice brass case that develops a lovely patina, and to my mind once the patina has developed you'd be pushed to tell brass & bronze apart, and they are a lot cheaper than $700, approx half that. I got mine for $340 used, only a few weeks old and with an extra strap. (mine is the dateless one which is now sold out)
StormTooper4 Posted December 29, 2013 Report Posted December 29, 2013 A different colour combo or the same? I love this one, two different bezels and three different straps came with it, so lots of combinations to play with I had to get the date version as the others had sold out, I really like it and its starting to colour up nicely Did you really get 3 Straps? I got the rubber and green Nato with mine. Have to say its pretty greta value
fraggle42 Posted December 29, 2013 Author Report Posted December 29, 2013 Yes I got an extra strap from the guy I bought it from. The rubber and NATO that came with the watch and a sort of sailcloth strap that is green coloured, the colour matches the green of the dial
Mike on a bike Posted December 29, 2013 Report Posted December 29, 2013 Looking at these two , tough call like them both.
fraggle42 Posted December 29, 2013 Author Report Posted December 29, 2013 First one, unless you're a member of the SAS Love the royal blue colour.
Mike on a bike Posted December 29, 2013 Report Posted December 29, 2013 We shall see looking at picks of both online real shots not sales photos.
fraggle42 Posted December 29, 2013 Author Report Posted December 29, 2013 We all know you'll end up buying them both But you're right, those photos favour the first blue one so a good idea to compare some more.
Mike on a bike Posted December 29, 2013 Report Posted December 29, 2013 There is non PVD version of golden eye (later one) which I am searching for but can not find at reasonable price at this point PVD about $800 only non PVD one found over $1400!
lhooq Posted December 30, 2013 Report Posted December 30, 2013 Definitely a gen Tudor black bay is a target for 2014. I have pre-ordered these 2 watches and hope they come in February... http://www.steinhartwatches.de/en/Nav-B-Uhr-44-handwinding-bronze,811.html http://www.steinhartwatches.de/en/OCEAN-One-Vintage,817.html Sent from my RM-821_apac_singapore_293 using Tapatalk I took a photo of a friend's Steinhart the other day. Pretty nice! I especially loved the tall, sapphire dome, which has a much more pleasing look than sapphire crystals on, say, recent Speedmaster Professionals.
Nanuq Posted December 30, 2013 Report Posted December 30, 2013 I especially loved the tall, sapphire dome Holy socks, that's a sapphire dome?!
