Nightwatch
Hi to all Specialists and Forum Members, Looking for the ultimate travel watch. Is there one Rep that does it all, is not a Rolex and costs below 10k as gen? Got so used to wearing each rep for the occasion that suddenly its difficult to decide on just one or two for all (too big, no lume, too expensive, too simple, too dressy, too flawed etc - You get the idea) If You where to cross-border business-travel several countries for 15 days with a leisure mixture of pool, beach & woods what would You take (if the G-shock or the Rolex won´t do). Specific model or picture attached would be perfect as I want to consider these on my "next-to-get-list". Big thanks in advance for your comments. Cheers
B3nj4min3
A decent all rounder in my eyes could be the Omega Planet Ocean. It's available in 42mm or 45.5mm so you can pick the best size for you. Lume is fairly reasonable for a rep. It's a good quality and well built rep that's fairly tough and generally waterproof (though you should get your individual one tested to be absolutely sure). It's not excessively dressy which would allow you to wear it more casual situations and a few colour variations are available to suit.

opti
must be on bracelet or rubber, you dont swim with leather. This is what I take, very easy to waterproof and tough as nails. And as an added bonus has GMT function so you know the time back home.
panerai153
I have two favorites First is the Rolex GMT , any model , however the 16750 has quickset, then the 16710 and the latest the116710. All are great and in genuine all for less than 10K, gently used for around 5K for the later model. 16750 116710 My next favorite is the Ulysse Nardin Big Date +- GMT more dressy than the Rolex models, but a great GMT with push button time change forward and back. I'm pretty sure everyone knows not to swim with leather.
whoever
+1 for the Omega.... but isn't any wrist watch the ultimate travel watch????
panerai153
Well, as usual, I didn't read the post thoroughly, so none of mine would qualify. If you are going to use the watch for swimming, might make sure it's one that you can get water resistant. I know that others have had good success with PAM's but the ones that I have had In the past were difficult to get sealed, mine leaked around the stem and crown, maybe poor construction, bad gaskets, etc. If you could get one reliably water resistant, I really like the older 063 and 029 versions, especially if you can find one that has an ETA 2893-2 movement . I have an Ocean 7 LM-5 GMT which s a very nice watch with a 2893-2 movement, it sells for 899.00 USD brand new, unfortunately, it looks sort of like a Rolex! On the Carbon strap that comes with it. On a S/S bracelet
carliv
I'd go breitling seawolf. Casual, tough, price is around $3,500, and waterproof(have it tested for safety but mine was fine)

Nightwatch
Thanks a lot for the suggestions so far. Best, neutral for dress and sports seems the Omega. Used the Seamaster Pro 300m for the last Years but felt it was time for a change. The PAM 233 GMT is on my list but waiting for a good rep; Rolex – Coke or Batman on the radar, most risky for border controls and can take only one. Haven´t been a Sinn-fan (until now) but will look for a U2 GMT (although too sporty for dress). Breitling possibly, but its too thick. For dress/meetings/business that Ulysse Nardin is tops, but is there a TD who has it? Any other that also fits under the cuffs well?
hambone
Funny how Mr, Superlative said the Rolex GMT. That is just what I was going to suggest.

mt666tm
Maybe just a plain 16610 Yup, that's what I generally take with me everywhere... mine is Gen though When I wanna be low key I generally take my FFF modded Seiko. The Dude
Breitling 42mm SO Abyss is a good one as well, costs around $200 and is allegedly waterproof from the factory:
rtzlat
For the price and durability I choose my Christopher Ward Trident. Works well for me in a suit or jeans and is at a price that won't hurt too bad if it gets damaged in my travels.
sunnydale
I loved to wear my Tag 500m on a holiday. Rock solid, accurate to a genuine, sporty and dressy enough...and that one was water resistant too
