Hunting For Breitling for Hubby

Recommended Posts

I am thinking of Andrew for a Breitling for my husband. My DH has a couple authentics so quality is important to him.  I've heard great things about Andrew but if there's better out there for Breitling I'd love to find them. Any suggestions for this noob?

Most if not all of the TD's can get the same watches. Pick the seller first then the watch is the golden rule, but yes Andrew at Trusty is good to deal with. And, welcome BTW.

Thats a nice Cronomat B01,shame I just sold 1 of them.

Go for the Navitimer 01

 http://www.ttw888.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=16_143&products_id=11697

they do this with a blue or white face if he prefers. The Navitimer is the best all round Breitling by a mile, get 1 of them 1st

See this is perfect info I need to know. Thanks a ton for taking the time to help me! :)

Watch out for chronos as A7750 movements can be problematic, better off with three hand as your DH not into the hobby he will not know where to get serviced. (not your local watch dealer)

I am facing that issue now. I took his rep (not a good one either) to a watch fix it place and it's been 4 weeks. They are having a hard time finding a replacement pin for one that just fell out!

From Andrew back in January.   I absolutely love this piece.  Got ETA movement version and NEVER have to adjust the time.

OH MY that is amazing!! Thanks for sharing that. He would love it for boating and such! I love that color. Maybe i'll get him two.

This may be a crazy question....but if I bought 3 watches from the same dealer do they give you a deal? I would hate to ask them if it would offend them or give me lessor quality.

Don't think a discount will be accepted. But if I can suggest there a way:

1) many of the dealers practice a discount if you pay with western union (in Italy doing all online it's a free service), ask if they do. I.e. Torobravo gave me 10% discount. Also many of them don't accept paypal from new customers (again Torobravo is an example)

2) having more than 1 piece in a single shipping than you save on shipping costs

But keep a thing in mind: shipping more watches together make the risk of custom seizure higher, so take care.

Many dealers offer a custom seizure protection (meaning that if the watch get caught by the customs they resend it), carefully read the FAQ on their sites, or ask them directly.

And remember ALWAYS to ask them if a model is available before to purchase and pay it.

Cheers,

GenTLe

Some will provide free shipping if the total spent exceeds a certain number.........

Truly good points to know especially about customs. I don't think I will mention a discount and I'll start with two instead. Thank you!

Considering this style.

I really like that actually! Nice find :)

As others have said, discounts are hard to come by, I would try and ask for free shipping, or a free upgrade to express shipping. And buy a max of two at a time otherwise customs may intercept your package and "borrow" them :(

And welcome to the forum!

I second this one as well! It's a great watch! I put mine on a Gen Breitling Super Ocean strap.

Like Mike said, you want to stay away from the 7750 unless you can get it serviced when it goes tango uniform.

Thank you! I am definitely going to follow the advice here and get two and not ask for discounts...but maybe upgraded shipping. Or should I wait until I am a more regular customer to ask for that?

If you haven't gotten anything yet, there is a very nice Blue dial Superocean Steelfish on the M2M sales forum. Has a Swiss ETAmovement, has been serviced and relumed. Comes with bracelet and a nice aftermarket strap and deployant buckle. This one is all sorted out and has the advantage of a Swiss ETA movement.
