Kronopassion
Dear Members. Will be building a 6263 soon and was wondering if there are any alternatives to the costly Val72 movement (not the A7750). Will be using dial from MQ or Yuki so the alternative movement needs to fit these dials. Thanks in advance for your help and expert guidance. ww12345
Other than a ST 19 with non working 6 subdial, then no.
alligoat
The Valjoux 23 is the bi-compax version of the V72- then you'd have a non working subdial at 6 o'clock, similar to the ST-
automatico
Someone in the know can tell if an ST19 will match the V72 sub dial hand positions but I will say from experience that the ST19 is a very good, reliable movement. The dial feet are not a match of course so it might be a problem mounting the dial securely.
ww12345
I'm pretty sure I saw someone on here or one of the other rep sites that had converted a ST 19 to a v72 dial/hand position but I don't remember who.
tomhorn
I'm pretty sure I saw someone on here or one of the other rep sites that had converted a ST 19 to a v72 dial/hand position but I don't remember who. This might be the thread. http://www.rwgforum.net/topic/136033-modding-the-cartel-vintage-daytonas-for-proper-sub-dial-spacing/ The ST-19 is not a swap for a v72. The size of the movement prevents it, even if you want to do the mod to correct the subdial spacing. The St-19 is 31.3mm and the v72 is 29.5mm in diameter. ww12345
Ah, didn't know that - good points tomhorn. Could the case be milled out?
