Aero_Dave
I found a nice set of spring bars that are slightly fatter than my ST bars and proper length as gen bars. I got them from this seller:http://www.ebay.com/itm/400816707783 ST bars on the right, new ones on the left. Dave...
jigelow
Intersting. I picked up some Clark's for my build. I wonder how they compare.
flyr
Nice, I just checked their shipping to me in Canada.............. $55 USD shipping!!!!! Ya gotta love US ebay sellers shipping charges. It happens a lot and not just watch related stuff. Very frustrating when I have had small items shipped from the US for around $8. ww12345
Check and see if that's the true shipping- sometimes eBay screws up on the automatic shipping calculations.
flyr
I'll do that, but I have found many U.S. sellers can't be bothered dealing with the simple customs form and jack up shipping to solve the problem with international shipping. ww12345
Really?! Wow, I've always been more than happy to ship abroad, provided the people are willing to pay a bit extra for the shipping and the minor hassle.
Aero_Dave
Intersting. I picked up some Clark's for my build. I wonder how they compare. Now that I think about it, my old one's in these pictures may be Clark's because I broke one of my ST one's a while back and order a Clark set. These new ones are really nice. Had I known how good they were, I would have order a few sets. Plus my old ones only 1 side of the case you could Clearly see the end of the bar. The other side was slightly recessed more. Now you can clearly see both sides are right near the case edge. Dave...
dbane883
I don't know who makes those spring bars you posted above, but I have compared gen bars to Star Times swiss-made bars and the differences are nearly imperceptible, with the exception of how the tips are polished. The gen tips are slightly pointy. Gen on bottom, ST on top: Gen on right, ST on left: The internal springs on the ST bars are hands down the best I have used. I would not be surprised if the tiny Swiss village that makes these bars also supply Rolex with them. I will never use any other bars.
pam007
Also ST bars are $1.70 a piece.
Aero_Dave
Also ST bars are $1.70 a piece. That may be true, but most of us can't order from them. Dave...
pam007
That may be true, but most of us can't order from them. Dave... Why not? I called ST and told them I was a watchmaker and they gave me a Temporary account. After my first order, they upgraded me to a permanent account automatically. There was no actual verification to see that I was an actual watchmaker.

Interesting, because Rolex serviced my Rolex and it has exactly the same as ST bars and I bought second batch of gen bars and those are exactly like your Rolex gen. automatico
flyr... If you want some ST springbars or anything else from them, I can order it and send it on up. It will cost you exactly what it cost me plus actual shipping cost to Canada. I will order a few items from ST at the same time and split the $7.50 shipping with you and I'll pay the residential delivery upcharge. If you want anything from Clark's etc it's the same deal.
