508-Fanatic
Yeah I definitely am one to lean on the side of caution rather than over-doing it or ruining it. Some people want the watch to look like it's been through hell and back... honestly the pictures are very sharp, it's more neutral and pleasing in person. I did over-do it a little bit by the "10" where the tool slipped and bit some of the face. Probably not the last insert I ever have on it or try thanks for the reply
Mendota Explorer
Nice work. At least you are trying. That's the key here. Nobody can fault you for that! As you said, it's probably not the last insert you'll have on it.
508-Fanatic
Drilled two lug holes today. Had to order bits and an arbor and such from MSC. The first two went reasonably smoothly, but then I got hungry and tired and broke two bits. Now to order 4 more bits, just in case, and try again later in the week. Very happy with the result!

508-Fanatic
Thank you! With the setup we have the only real danger is $15 bits snapping off.. I get them from MSC, high speed steel, carbide / tungsten mix, 1.3mm We set the milling machine to 60 revolutions, very very slow speed, actually as slow as it goes. 508-Fanatic
Since I'm not shy, here I am at work - and once I figure out how to stop breaking bits, we might offer our services. There's a shaper, lathe, milling machine, press, grinder and lapper in this shop owned by my brother. I'm in white t-shirt in the middle.

508-Fanatic
Similar case - both were sourced from Dave Miller. I've got DBane working on mine right now, excited to see the results.

Plus will have proper insert, new genuine T-19 Rolex plexi, and working on a great bracelet. Most importantly (to me) is the beating heart, genuine cal.1520 keeping COSC grade time. 508-Fanatic
Dazza has delivered!! Hopefully this is a half-decent pic, taken on Canon EOS with 35mm lens. I don't have a macro-lens yet. The lettering on the dial for some reason looks like garbage on here, but looks just fine in person. The lume plots are what make it great, and matching hands with pearl. Will go great on a nicely faded insert. Once DBane is done with the case this beauty is going to live on my wrist!
