Beachcomber
Gents, my quest continues and it's killing me, mostly now that I've found out that inserts are so Damn expensive. What do you think about this one? It has been offered to me for 5, what do you think? A fair deal? Thanks. Beachcomber
I just picked it up. Yes, I believe this is a good price for a long 5. I've been doing research and many are asking upwards of 800, so I guess 5 is a good deal. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Beachcomber
Thanks, I'm psyched, I understand the long 5 is actually a MK2. I have learned so much whilst on my quest for the perfect insert and now consider myself pretty much a expert, I never really paid too much attention in these, just so long as they looked good I was happy. highoeyazmuhudee
this is still insane to me; $500 for a piece of well used painted aluminum
tomhorn
Especially when a NIB service insert can be had for $150.

Beachcomber
this is still insane to me; $500 for a piece of well used painted aluminum I know, right? When I bought my Red 1680 a while back I remember the seller telling me I was getting a great deal due to the kissing 4 insert, later after receiving the watch I did some investigating and found out that the insert I had in the watch could be worth as much 2 grand to the right buyer! I couldn't believe it. It just goes to show you how crazy collecting vintage Rolex can be. Here's a pic of the insert that was on my Red, beautiful. Beachcomber
Beautiful. What is a kissing 4? Look at the above insert, see how the 4 touches the 0? That's a kissing 4, very expensive. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
