tienbang Posted June 30, 2015 Report Posted June 30, 2015 First, I just wanted to give a shoutout to members StoneP and jerkstore for making all of this possible. StoneP for being an awesome guy and seller. Jerkstore for the DIY thread that gave me the confidence to actually get this done. This was my FIRST EVER build and that includes installing the hands, removing the date wheel and applying another dwo, cutting and installing the stem, etc. It was a nerve wracking experience for someone that's not known for patience. That being said, on to the photos! I know a few things that can be improved: -cyclops alignment could be better -dwo from wso has a smaller diameter and there's a slight noticeable gap -dial is a smidge off All in all I'm satisfied with the work and very happy to have my long time dream of owning a Datejust (albeit a franken one) realized. I think I'll eventually fix the little in the future but I'll just enjoy the watch as is for now. freddy333 Posted June 30, 2015 Report Posted June 30, 2015 Considering all the gen parts in this build, I would have held out for a gen movement (which you can still do as long as you did not clip the dial feet) & 62510H/555 bracelet. Still, a beauty. Well done. 1

I need to develop the courage to work on something nice. I am still tinkering with canal street donors and paying others to do the real work on my nice pieces. Sooner or later I will build one...

Skywatch Posted July 1, 2015 Report Posted July 1, 2015 Very nice for your first try, especially with all the gen parts. I would be a little nervous about dinging up some nice gen parts. The silver / white linen dials are some of my favorite on the Datejust / Daydate.

Mine was that way too before I sold it off to the scamming SOB watchmaker from Chicago who shalt not be named .... Hard to tell from this pic though because it was taken straight on.
