rolojack Posted August 15, 2015 Report Posted August 15, 2015 Well, I could achieve a very futile dream : have all three major bodies evolution of the basic sub. Square CG, Pointed CG and round CG. So similar, yet so different ! 2
Revere Posted August 16, 2015 Report Posted August 16, 2015 I love the SCG build. I've been planning a 6542 build after my 6538, but may end up going for a SCG because they look so unique! For whatever reason, it's a less popular one I guess...
508-Fanatic Posted August 16, 2015 Report Posted August 16, 2015 They are glorious! Love my 5513 PCG. Where can I get one of those period specific boxes?
rolojack Posted August 16, 2015 Author Report Posted August 16, 2015 They are glorious! Love my 5513 PCG. Where can I get one of those period specific boxes?very simply on ebay... Patience and you will find at a fair price. Having a set really completes the watch! It does not look as good mixed up with other watches in an anonymous box. 1
508-Fanatic Posted August 19, 2015 Report Posted August 19, 2015 At the risk of being told to do, yet more reading, believe me I have looked - can anyone identify the *right* case for a '66 Submariner?
droptopman Posted August 19, 2015 Report Posted August 19, 2015 Birth year so lots of reading. Cool period as both the Sub and GMT offered gilt and non gilt dials in 66. As far as I know regular crown guards on a 66 5512/13 Sub.
508-Fanatic Posted August 19, 2015 Report Posted August 19, 2015 I've been trying to source out the #'s... like 66.00.00143 or whatever the f but in my research I haven't found anything that's conclusive for 1966 and the #'s can be misleading.
droptopman Posted August 19, 2015 Report Posted August 19, 2015 Serials should be in the 1,300,000-1,500,00 range. But check here http://www.vintagerolexforum.com/
Dlf Posted August 19, 2015 Report Posted August 19, 2015 (edited) lovely stuff RJ!super builds!Nice crown height in the SCG, you're PCG was my motivation now I weld every watch I build... im working on an Eagle beak and SCG next, and designing a tulip dial. Edited August 19, 2015 by Dlf
