Plenty aloha from Hawaii

This morning I've been talking to Lani and he sends his aloha to his ohana here at RWG.  He's busy but all is well.

Sure hope he pops back in here again and sees this.  :tu:

Back in 2009 when my Son chose to go some 4,000 miles away to U of Hawaii, Lanikai, whose parents live very near the university, volunteered to keep tabs for me. Add in Omni, who lives on Maui and whose Son also went to U of H and was the same age, same year of school, and this parent felt so much more at ease. Lanikai is my favorite beach. I still used the excuse to go to Hawaii a few times a year!

RWG is a great place for watches. But it is a far better place for the people.

Amen, brother. Were you here when Lani wound up in the hospital? It was

pretty grim for quite awhile. We gathered up some money and bought him the Doxa book Pete put out and sent it to Omni, who hand delivered it to Lani in his hospital room.

You don't just find relationships like these. These are cultivated among good people over many years. It's an honor to be part of this place we call home.

I was not aware of Lani's illness , being gone and I'll myself. He is a great guy, and he always frequented the same places in Hawaii that I did. Wishing  Lani all the best.
