gasebah Posted December 28, 2015 Report Posted December 28, 2015 Was wondering about the use of tritium as "lume" and stumbled over this article.Thought I'd share it.http://wornandwound.com/2013/08/23/seeing-in-the-dark-luminescence-in-watches/
martijnp Posted December 28, 2015 Report Posted December 28, 2015 Thanks for sharing, interesting article
kernow Posted December 29, 2015 Report Posted December 29, 2015 Yes, interesting indeed. I knew little about lume and now I know a little more thanks to the OP.
droptopman Posted December 29, 2015 Report Posted December 29, 2015 Good read. Thanks for posting it. I remember reading a story about the "radium girls" in the past but it did not cover the lume history to present day.
RickFlorida Posted December 29, 2015 Report Posted December 29, 2015 I have a marathon dial with tritium tubes that i'm selling on the bay. Even has tritium glass tubes on the hour and minute hands. I think they last 25 years and these are about 8 years old.
