2783 for a 5512?

Dumb newbie question:

I have an ETA 2783 from an old watch that ticks along fine. I am also picking up a nice old 5512 Sub that currently has an Asian movement. Will this fit fine?

Dont think the feet will match but u can always cut them. Why do you want to change the movement?

Should work- it's an older movement that closely approximates the thickness of the 2836-2. Like C-C said- you'll probably have to cut the dial feet.

Hand sizes are the same as current eta- 150/90/25.

Check the canon piñon height before you start operating.

Best option is to get a 2846, which is the same as 2836 as dimensions and all, just the escapement is different since it ticks at 21600

I got one: bought a 2846 base plate and transplanted everything else from a 2842 plus the date change mechanism, the balance hacking lever and the keyless 3 action spring from a 2836
