Went for a little climb yesterday

I tackled Mt Baldy from my front door, it started out nice but in the 1 hour it took to reach the top it started sleeting. There was bear scat everywhere but we made it home in one piece.

Oh I was... both dogs had their hackles up smelling the air... that's never a good thing. I was much happier on top above timberline where you can see a ways. Down in the Creepy Bear Alders my head was on a swivel!

Do you carry a gun/rifle when you're out there?

Almost never.  I rely on the dogs and their sixth sense.  If it's windy/noisy in the trees then I'll bring the shotgun and slugs.
