Rolex modern Oyster-bracelets with SEL, how is the SEL fastened? (Help please...)

Hi guys...

I was supposed to greet a client last week... Imagine mine and his surprise when a flying Rolex projectile is coming at him.

In short.. Something inside the SEL broke and the whole bracelet-watch combo left my wrist.

So now, I'm looking for a way to reattach the SEL back on the bracelet.

I'm guessing it's some sort of flange-less-springbar?

Any tips regarding the Rolex-original item number or a similar aftermarket product? The braclet is a JF 116610. Looks like this:

Nevermind.. I took things in my own hands and made a little custom springbar from an existing one. Perfect fit.

Where does this bracelet came from ?

AFAIK, the end link will need to be taken apart, the end-link assembled onto it with the proper pin, and then pressed back together.  Yet another reason to only build vintage! ;)

Extremely easy fix...

I took a 1,6mm thick 12mm with 3mm double-flanged tips spring bar.

Shortened the 3mm pins to aprox 1mm (and both flanges disappear).

Now we have a 12mm "classic" springbar with 1mm long and aprox 1mm (diameter) thick pins.

Insert in SEL.

Push the pins in while attaching to the remaining fized llinks.

DONE.

2 mins + a Dremel.

You get the "Thinking outside the box" award.  Bravo!

HAHAHA...

Thanks! Hope it helps someone else. I should add that there is "no play" at all. So it'll be "stock" in no time.

So most likely they are doing a similar thing but using springbars with weak tips, easily breaking with a couple of days of use.

Good luck with them SELs!

Problem with using a springbar is that the weakness is no better than Jf. The springbar pin may still fail. I used the metal hammer in pins as used in other reps and gen sels. Very tight fit and should be strong.
