Reccomend watch smith in the Bay Area, CA

Recommended Posts

Hi. I’m looking for someone to help me with a 1016 build here in the Bay Area in California. I took it to two different watch smiths and they refused to work on it because it was a rep.

Any help or recommendations would be awesome

Leon

I would ship half way across the world to use the right guy, rather than use the wrong guy locally. Even if they will work on it, if they aren’t well versed in the rep game, they aren’t going to give the results you want

Roger that Sogeha.

We have a multitude of people here on the board that are intimately familiar with reps in all their iterations. USPS shipping is cheap; contact a few people and see how their backlog is... you won't be disappointed.

Thanks for all the information

I have found that shipping seems to be the best method for my area.

I definitely would love to have someone local though so that I would be able to learn a bit more by lurking around their workspace.

Best,
Leon

You guys missunderstand me, I am not looking for local, I am just looking for in the USA as I would rather not risk customs both ways if not needed.  I tried one guy I have used before but he initially said he could not so I am looking for another option.  I have a Pam that needs a crystal replacement, I have already found a source for the crystal.

Well heck, I do crystal replacements! It just takes a little direct pressure.

That is not the appropriate method, in fact it is a bit improvised and amateur.

Get a proper press, it helps. I guarantee crystals I fit won’t come out

Well naturally, if you're fitting a loose and sloppy rep crystal. Tsk!

As we all know a genuine crystal is a much tighter fit and requires a genuinely capable press to get it well seated.
