hologramet
SO, it's finally time for a new crazy gen spec-build. After a Daytona w/ gen 4130, 16610 w/ all gen parts except for midcase, now we're going the way of the ceramics. Items will be as follows; ------------------------------ Noob v7 116600 SA3135 408 USD [ordered] Genuine 3135 (brand new) 2400 EUR. Hands NOS 175 USD [ordered] Dial NOS 650 USD [ordered] Ceramic insert NOS 650 USD [ordered] Gen 704-crown 100 USD + full tear-down of the 3135, and assembly, and water testing: 450 EUR w/ Mikael @ www.urdelar.se Keeping rep: Midcase, bezel assembly, crystal, tube, caseback, bracelet. ------------------------ Preliminary cost: 4300 USD It's definitely way better than the 12500 USD I paid for my gen (which I sold a couple of weeks later). 4300/12500 = 34,4% Franken cost.
edgematic1
Dial and bezel from the bay? Was watching them too, they were priced well! But another project has to go first. So far I'll have to do with the 3135. Maloja is a good guy. What bothers me a bit is the crystal, not sure if they've upgraded it with the last release. But the best ceramic seadweller for sure. Proportions are way better. Should be an easy build, good luck.

jimcon11
This is the way to do it! Own the gen first, then decide exactly how the build should be done. Nice looking project. Edited January 22, 2019 by jimcon11
hologramet
D**N it! 116600 Noob v7 SA3135 is out of stock. Hopefully 116600 v8 A2824 uses the same case (as the Crown height should be similar...) Can anyone confirm?

hologramet
Those are factory prices with about 50% added costs by my source. The prices people are paying 340 USD for a hand set is ridiculous. Like i've said for years, people are getting ripped off bigtime by the so call "market prices".

I can live with that, since I prefer recessed/shorter ones, but YMMV.

hologramet
Not done yet... My source ordered my parts but lost his Rolex-account. And SD4K-dials are hard to come by. I’ll make my own with gen indices...Skickat från min iPhone med TapatalkAlso considering adding genuine ”SELs + 3 links”. Costs 700€ for both sides... not decided yet.Skickat från min iPhone med Tapatalk
