Richard Tracy Posted April 3, 2006 Report Posted April 3, 2006 Well since it looks like I will never see a copy of the Pam beautiful 160,.. From what I have gathered thus far on the forums, the 063 or 029 - 2893 are the best currently available choices..are current owners fully satisfied with these Live ? Also are there any gmts I am missing, that are a serious, models worth considering, in any other line ? Thanks in advance...
ehtolcad Posted April 3, 2006 Report Posted April 3, 2006 if i had my way and was willing to spend the $$$, i'd do the GMTII franken with the great dial/case and correct hand stack. but that would still be after a 063/029. i'd also like a vintage 1675, but AFAIK no one has a really really good one (other than Euno, but we all know what he did with his franken....)

Esmarc Posted April 3, 2006 Report Posted April 3, 2006 PAM 184, or Rollie GMT II I'm not even a Rollie guy, but the GMT's got it goin' on! Esmarc
Richard Tracy Posted April 3, 2006 Author Report Posted April 3, 2006 My favorite would be the 6542 GMT, the earliest model without crown guards. Hi Nanuq, this one ? Finally found this site again...has just about any model I want to find... http://catalog.antiquorum.com/catalog.html...24&auctionid=76 Great looking piece.. could I build a rep ?
Richard Tracy Posted April 3, 2006 Author Report Posted April 3, 2006 PAM 184, or Rollie GMT II I'm not even a Rollie guy, but the GMT's got it goin' on! Esmarc The Pam 184 is killer ... thinking about reps however..

These PAMs are fine, although I have heard the factory has stopped making it with the 2893 movement. Not sure how accurate this information is. Favourite GMT of all is the white dial Omega Seamaster GMT... but go for the replacement original hands/ dial if you can.
ehtolcad Posted April 3, 2006 Report Posted April 3, 2006 Thanks Ehtolcad,.. what are the kind of costs involved ? costs would be 2 GMTII's plus time/labor of swapping parts. i'd explain it, but i'll give all credit due to those that came up with the idea in the first place: http://www.replica-watches-guide.com/forum...showtopic=30870
Richard Tracy Posted April 3, 2006 Author Report Posted April 3, 2006 Thanks Ehtolcad, I will look it up... any thoughts on this ? Also Thanks Chronus, I totally forgot Omega.. Jeeze what was I thinking ? I even have a gator band in 20mm waiting !
Richard Tracy Posted April 3, 2006 Author Report Posted April 3, 2006 Ehtolcad, wow that black beauty puts the gold thing above to shame.. great looking out !
Jetsons Posted April 3, 2006 Report Posted April 3, 2006 (edited) Rollie vintage GMT Master with the 2893. That would cover the matte dial, correct hand stack and required acrylic crystal. The GMT Master does exist from River with the 2893/correct hand stack but the GMT hand is too thick/short and the dial accuracy could use improvement. Not sure about case accuracy. RT, I have both Pam GMTs the {063 was for the little woman} with the 2893 and they are fantastic watches. Both are super smooth and very accurate time keepers. Very well built as well. These guys simply ooze with quality. They are also quite versatile with the simple change of the strap. BTW, I prefer the 029 which IMO, has a much more interesting and simpler dial plus larger hour markers. To answer your question, quite satisfied. Cheers, Jet Edited April 3, 2006 by Jetsons
ehtolcad Posted April 3, 2006 Report Posted April 3, 2006 can't belive we're talking GMT's and lord clive hasn't posted yet ah well, all in due time
HighDef Posted April 3, 2006 Report Posted April 3, 2006 My favorite is the red/blue 6542 with white second and red date font. Has anybody seen this rep? I would like to get one if available.
JJFlash Posted April 3, 2006 Report Posted April 3, 2006 (edited) You may think me crazy. Note this in not my favorite GMT. However, I just love the look on s/s. edit: picture from TTK Edited April 3, 2006 by JJFlash
HighDef Posted April 3, 2006 Report Posted April 3, 2006 Does anybody has River's link to his collection? I can't seem to find it.
yodaddynukka Posted April 3, 2006 Report Posted April 3, 2006 the 063 with 2893 is simply awesome. mine is keeping perfect time. i love it. u will not be disappointed!
By-Tor Posted April 3, 2006 Report Posted April 3, 2006 Some of my favourite GMT's: Omega Speedmaster Broad Arrow GMT (new model) Ebel Voyager: Black Seamaster GMT: Zenith Port Royal Elite: ...and the only GMT I currently own:
Pugwash Posted April 3, 2006 Report Posted April 3, 2006 Also are there any gmts I am missing, that are a serious, models worth considering, in any other line ? The fantasy Rolex GMT Master-II LV:
towcat Posted April 3, 2006 Report Posted April 3, 2006 The fantasy Rolex GMT Master-II LV: Don't care if it is a fantasy or not. Outside of the Pepsi GMT, the fantasy LV GMT is my next favorite. Besides, there aren't that many people out there in the real world who can figure out that it isn't a real rollie.
towcat Posted April 3, 2006 Report Posted April 3, 2006 spot the rep from China..... answer...both are. One is from WW2 the other is from a year ago.
marrickvilleboy Posted April 3, 2006 Report Posted April 3, 2006 (edited) for me its the Omega GMT white dial. I'm Modding it as we speak and will put photos up soon i hope. There are just too many black/blue dial GMTs, you hardly see white dials, so this one makes up for it. Edited April 3, 2006 by Marrickvilleboy
Pugwash Posted April 3, 2006 Report Posted April 3, 2006 There are just too many black/blue dial GMTs, you hardly see white dials, so this one makes up for it. There's the Rolex Exploder 2 ...
Edge Posted April 3, 2006 Report Posted April 3, 2006 And the winner is............. Rad GMT Alarm........ But until there is a rep of this, the 063 all the way. Enjoy.
