jhigh Posted March 10, 2007 Author Report Posted March 10, 2007 Gen yatchie not sure about the Datejust. Need some straight on , close up pic's. Ken Another DJ pic.
bklm1234 Posted March 11, 2007 Report Posted March 11, 2007 (edited) YM fake. Crown teeth not sharp, date window too big and squarish and too far right, along with cyclop having too much magnification. -bm Edited March 11, 2007 by bklm1234
dieselpower Posted March 11, 2007 Report Posted March 11, 2007 YM Fake . As bklm1234 points out, you should be able to see the minute index in the right hand side of the date mag window. From your photo you can't because the window is too far to the right. Definitely fake. The other piece? No idea!
manuel Posted March 11, 2007 Report Posted March 11, 2007 ok, so both are fake, right? Who is the dealer? thanks
Tribal Posted March 11, 2007 Report Posted March 11, 2007 YM fake, datejust seems to be gen,but hard to tell from this pics...
alligoat Posted March 11, 2007 Report Posted March 11, 2007 I'm not too keen on the DJ either. The crystal is too high for sapphire and a plastic crystal 16013, 16014 late 70's, 80's DJ has holes in the lugs.
FlipLockBuckle Posted March 11, 2007 Report Posted March 11, 2007 YM is fake, the space between the 3 and the 0 is too big, same on my timepiece. The crownguard are too sharp, but they can be modded.
jhigh Posted March 11, 2007 Author Report Posted March 11, 2007 Yachtmaser is the rep, from Josh. Datejust is a gen, from Jared Galleria. It's the model before the latest update. The salesman didn't tell me the band and clasp were changing in a few months. I wanted the hidden clasp. I would have waited, but, oh well.
HauteHippie Posted March 11, 2007 Report Posted March 11, 2007 Gen DateJust. No clue on the Yachtmaster - I don't pay attention to those.
bruce79 Posted March 11, 2007 Report Posted March 11, 2007 It doesn't matter I guess...these are so good even we can't tell...some of the best.
alligoat Posted March 12, 2007 Report Posted March 12, 2007 That's interesting how the DJ crystal sits so high on the watch. It's my understanding that the Datejust uses the same 295C sapphire crystal that the sub uses. Guess I'll have to start taking a closer look at the modern DJ's!
