swemoose
I'm pretty certain that the caseback should have "LUMINOR" on the top and "DAYLIGHT" on the bottom. I'd feel very iffy bidding on this one. My $0.02..... Moose
KB
I will go for gen but what concerns me is that the pic's that will really tell the story (the close ups) are the only ones that wont enlarge. Ken
V
FAKE... Look at the pictures that Ken says they enlarge.. The chrono is running and the date is hidden.. Look at the other two photos.. the chrono is still and the date is crystal clear.. VERY NICE SCAMMER this one Of course the A on PANERAI is wrong so it doesn't matter if he hides or not the date Edited June 4, 2007 by V
Watchmeister
V- You are a genius. I didn't bother clicking the pics and it did pass my smell test. What is scary is that it has to be someone from one of the forums. The date wheel and crown are too good to have come from anywhere else. My usual tell has been to identify old or new case and then go to the 6 o'clock marker to see if it sticks up too close to the subdial. It initially didn't look off but now that I actually take a close look... And plenty of 196 Daylights do not have Luminor on the top of the case back. But if you really are going to buy any gen PAM from someone you are concerned with I go straight to the crown guard pin. The pin on the gen is beautifully machined on the top. Not even the Jimmy's are near that good. With that in mind gen crown guards are rare enough that it makes it a lot less likely to be fake. omni
V, that is an example of the best eye I've seen looking at a scam. I didn't even notice that not really speculating on not being able to enlarge the vital pictures. My hats off to you from an expert eye. "It it sounds too good to be true, it probably is." The other thing I noticed....the font on the Warranty Card looks a little thin when compared to my gen warranty cards....I had to go back and check 'cause that 196 had me going! cheers
