Friends,

Today i received my favourite watch back from a (great) service maintenance by Vaccum.

I also received my first amazing Tootall strap.

I have decided to give you some pics and tell a little replica story :D

The purchase

In march 2006 i discovered www.ioffer.com and i bought a 217.

I didn't know anything about reps and paid to much ($ 430,-).

The watch arrived and i was happy with it:

Straps

I discovered this site and read about all the straps geeks!

First i thought it was stupid, but soon i orderd my first strap from strap-works.com

It gave the watch another look.

Broken glass & repair & modding

Like everbody's fiddy my mineral glass cracked!

I was really [censored] of!!!

Soon i discovered you could buy an DSN sapphire and and the watch could be fixed.

I sent my watch to Finepics in London, he modded my watch.

Now the watch has amazing superlume, fixed cannon pins etc etc...

Mario Paci

In the meantime i bought a lot of other reps and discovered the straps from Elliot

I bought my first MP for this watch, and i sold the strapworks strap.

This MP strap looks amazing on my vintage brevet radiomir by Flavor Flave.

Dead Movement & repair by Vaccum

3 weeks ago my movement went dead.

I contacted Vaccum and he offered me his service

I sent the watch to the US (affraid of Custom problems) and received it back today.

Dealing with Vaccum was great, communication is top of the bill.

And most important he repaired and serviced my watch :D:D:D

I am seriously thinking about sending another watch from some modding (more fun!)

Tootall Strap

I started to like the Greg Steven - Crazy horse.

A few weeks ago i saw the straps from Tootall, and they look amazing.

I received a B2 from Tootall today, and it must be said it is the best strap i have for my fiddy!

The leather is amazingly soft and it looks stunning!

Dealing with Tootall is very pleasant, the price/quality of his straps are amazing!

For my next pam strap i will first contact tootall

Enough words, here are the pics:

Conclusion for about this watch:

It has cost me way to much  (buy a DSN fiddy, no modding needed !!!)

It has tought me a lot :D

It has been a lot of fun 8)

It has been in countries i have never been :D

I love it :D

I hope everybody likes this posting, have fun !

Greetings from Holland.

@aapxp, beautiful 217....seeing your pics makes me yearn for my 217, which is off being AR coated and ziggyfied at the moment....

That tootall strap is very nice... Where do I order one? Thanks.

He's on RWI, full-time. I believe these pro-am strapmakers don't come here because they have to pay the VIP upgrade to advertise? Not sure, so please forgive me if that's speaking out of turn.

Anyway, I have the exact same strap...on the exact same watch, now! :)

It looks magnificent. Just have to say though, that whilst I really liked the 217h I got, the FIDDY spoke to me, and that's pulling it out of its packaging all cracked and everything.

I'll get one, yet, you'll see. The Fiddy is magic.
