gioarmani Posted August 11, 2007 Report Posted August 11, 2007 Love it or hate it, it's here: http://www.perfectclones88.com/rlyms10011-...813-p-3263.html Can't wait to see the ceramic version.
gioarmani Posted August 11, 2007 Author Report Posted August 11, 2007 (edited) Gen to rep. I like this version--even flawed, it's starting to grow on me. Think for $98 I'll have to snap one up. Have to dremmel the living [censored] out of it to get it closer to white-gold. Edited August 11, 2007 by gioarmani
Dizzy Posted August 11, 2007 Report Posted August 11, 2007 The chinese factories should have NO problem replicating these stupid looking crownguards LOL. They are used to making them look like this when they arnt supposed to... haha I like this version--even flawed, it's starting to grow on me. Think for $98 I'll have to snap one up. Have to dremmel the living [censored] out of it to get it closer to white-gold.
gioarmani Posted August 11, 2007 Author Report Posted August 11, 2007 My complaint is even if the subdial is non-functioning, who gives a [censored]? At least you could have numbered it correctly.
Dizzy Posted August 11, 2007 Report Posted August 11, 2007 didnt even think of that but you are absolutely corrrect! that subdial just SCREAMS fake
TomRiddle Posted August 11, 2007 Report Posted August 11, 2007 to quote knights of prosperity... that ain't even bling bling that's bling blong! lol ^^
gioarmani Posted August 11, 2007 Author Report Posted August 11, 2007 Are the subdials on these things stickers, are they printed on the dial, or are they separate pieces that were inserted into the dial? Be so easy just to switch this shitty calendar subdial with the 60 second subdial on a Daytona. Same position, same size, same color, same numbering system, same font...
BobM Posted August 12, 2007 Report Posted August 12, 2007 I know a lot of folks have sneered at this gaudy piece, but Rolex will sell a BUNCH of these!! It is certainly on my reps-to-buy list but I want the gold/white face/blue ceramic bezel ( the one other than Steel that they show on the Rolex web site), and I want mine to work ... all of it ... and be a faithfull replication of the original. How long do you think it will be before we have that available? First of the year? Or when hell freezes over?
gioarmani Posted August 12, 2007 Author Report Posted August 12, 2007 If you're speaking of the rep as is, it was available last week. Thus, the link @ the top.
t Posted August 12, 2007 Report Posted August 12, 2007 one of the most ugly watch ever... gen and rep :yucky:
DuDro Posted August 12, 2007 Report Posted August 12, 2007 one of the most ugly watch ever... gen and rep :yucky: Agreed...A Double-:yucky:-:yucky:
FasTTaP Posted August 13, 2007 Report Posted August 13, 2007 check this out, a cool presentation of the functionalities of the YM II at Rolex website... pretty cool, but not obvious mechanical wonder : Link to Rolex website (anonymized)
frankt Posted August 13, 2007 Report Posted August 13, 2007 total "Two bagger"!!!....(one over your head, one over your wrist!!)...In case one falls off!!! ^_^ ;)
BigNickD Posted August 13, 2007 Report Posted August 13, 2007 As a yachtsman myself, I appreciate the functionality. However, the form it takes in the Yachtmaster II is enough to cause one to be seasick on dry land.
Bravoz Posted October 8, 2007 Report Posted October 8, 2007 I honestly think it's an amazing looking watch
Johnkaz Posted November 18, 2007 Report Posted November 18, 2007 Is it just me, but I keep thinking Corum Admirals Cup. I know they are very different but the colours, and general appearance give me that thought. Bit of plagiarism by the mighty Rolex, surely not. When will the rep appear Feb 2008 is my guess. Cheers Johnkaz
CY0811 Posted November 18, 2007 Report Posted November 18, 2007 At least its large...thats all it has going for it.
Rolecs Posted January 18, 2008 Report Posted January 18, 2008 (edited) Hi, silix have one ( http://www.watchsilix.com/product.asp?id=1934 ) Quite sheap but the hands are not as the gen... it's one of the key point of the watch to me. If someane got any links to buy it, I'm very interested thx Edited January 18, 2008 by Rolecs
SWATCHman Posted January 18, 2008 Report Posted January 18, 2008 A pic of theh gen should illustrate the definition of "butt ugly" in Wikipedia. And a pic of the rep should be used to demonstrate what a blind man create from a piece of stainless steel with his hands tied behind his back. This piece of crap gives replicas a bad name...
yaron Posted January 18, 2008 Report Posted January 18, 2008 Totally agreed, I would not take this rep for free. The gen at least looks like high quality and it's a matter of taste if you like it or not, but the rep looks like Canal street quality
gioarmani Posted January 18, 2008 Author Report Posted January 18, 2008 No one will even notice the hands because the most screaming flaws on this watch are (for the first time in history) too thin CGs, and an incorrectly numbered subdial @ 6.
vafarmer70 Posted January 19, 2008 Report Posted January 19, 2008 That dial at 6 makes that already ugly watch look and scream fake...
rek001 Posted January 19, 2008 Report Posted January 19, 2008 This watch reminds me of some of the trying too hard to be cool Invictas where elements of popular watches are taken and tossed together garbage salad style, absolutely no cohesion of design whatsoever, nothing flows.
Guest asad Posted January 19, 2008 Report Posted January 19, 2008 Yea i had noticed that on there site a couple of days ago too.
