Admin Posted August 22, 2007 Report Posted August 22, 2007 Well, I have installed a brand new rating system for RWG. In the bottom of every topic, you will see these icons You can use these to add your rating to the current topic. There are several choices. Just hover your mouse over them to see what ratings you can give the current topic. I do of course expect several "Useful"-ratings to this topic
TwoTone Posted August 22, 2007 Report Posted August 22, 2007 Clicked the "useful" icon and received the following error message: Fatal error: Call to undefined method xmlout::erate() in /home/rwg/public_html/members/sources/action_public/xmlout.php on line 171 m
Victoria Posted August 22, 2007 Report Posted August 22, 2007 Clicked the "useful" icon and received the following error message: Fatal error: Call to undefined method xmlout::erate() in /home/rwg/public_html/members/sources/action_public/xmlout.php on line 171 Clicked on "agree" TT's post and got a similar error. LOL. P.S.: Personally, I've never liked these kinds of controls because as in Digg, etc., one often gives ratings based not on what the person is saying, but if you agree with their politics, or perceived politics, and so forth. Mind you, in a controlled forum like RWG, it could be a good thing since that plays a lesser role.
plaifender Posted August 22, 2007 Report Posted August 22, 2007 (edited) personally, I have no experience with these controls, but it sounds harmless, especially in this place! Edited August 22, 2007 by plaifender
hyster Posted August 24, 2007 Report Posted August 24, 2007 I like the ratings, it adds someting different to this forum. Good Idea, a good way to encourage positive contribution to the site. Don't know what ZING is but you would appear to have it sssurfer
sssurfer Posted August 25, 2007 Report Posted August 25, 2007 Don't know what ZING is but you would appear to have it sssurfer Argh, you are right! And I don't even know what it is. Please admin/mods, give me a sign!
docblackrock Posted August 25, 2007 Report Posted August 25, 2007 Hmm just noticed these....probably because I have a big red cross because two people disagreed with my Vintage Parts Madness post, one of whom I believe out of petty spite because of some disagreement over his dodgy selling practices But I like it in principle, apart from the fact that because it appears next to every post you make thereafter (rather than contained within a particular thread), it feels a little like I've been branded I've had the odd "informative" and "thanks" here and there but I don't see them plastered next to my name. Mwaaaaaa.....I wanna gold star

docblackrock Posted August 25, 2007 Report Posted August 25, 2007 So I get the "plague/bring out yer dead" red cross because I've had it the most, twice, equal with good idea??? Or is it because that was the last rating I received? Just for clarity Admin, not that I'm on a vengeful witchunt for those SOWs who dared give me the red stamp of shame...
docblackrock Posted August 26, 2007 Report Posted August 26, 2007 Feel better now Doc? Yes thanks Although a little also as it's a pity/sympathy 'star'.....ah well, never mind, beggars can't be choosers
