What do you think? Bidding stars at $9000. I've heard about this model, but never seen it offered before.

I've seen photos of the "Ivory" version before, and this dial looks different.

The dial color, coupled with it's current shade of lume, makes it look a bit muddy & jaundiced. Aesthetically, I don't think it works as well as the modern version's colors do.

Damn...Very nice! Looks like it has a nice patina going on, that could be why it looks a little different than others you've seen...John Mayer has a similar Tiffany & Co cream dial explorer and its lovely

@Gio: I can't say I like this dial, either.

This same Ebay store sells a lot of replacement Rolex dials. I was curious if you think that this "ivory" dial has been constructed from a standard white ExpII dial. The real "Ivory" version is quite sought after among the hardcore collectors.

That's an interesting possibility.

Lol--this is the part of their description that I love the best:

Very important notes:

- Previous interested parties had concerned about traces of glue on the dial. It was there when we purchased the watch and frankly, we do not know why there was glue traces there. We DID NOT, repeat, DID NOT replace the lums on this dial.

Mmmhmmm...

wrong dial dial,

this is a dial from the 16570 not 16550

the cream dial must be a rail dial,

Don't take this the wrong way but I'm not sure what you were trying to say. I'm interested in learning about these dials. Can you repost and clarify? It sounds like maybe English is a second language and we are running into a communication issue.

Not a fan of the ivory face. I love the white. I tried on a "vintage" white faced exp II yesterday. good price, but had alot of wear and tear. im sure it was never serviced. but, if i held it and my exp Ii in my hands blindfolded, I would say the rep was gen.

I was just about to comment on how much I liked the vintage look of the dial, before reading further down. Great catch on the text.
