Hi Cats,

Watch out as there seem to be a lot of fake according to a friend of mine.

On top of this, I recently bought 2 sets of 580s (from members here, so no doubt they are gen) and none are fitting "perfectly" my 1680s.

I also got 501b and these ones seem to fit better :(

Cheers

Stephane

I wouldn't mind finding a pair of fakes for a fake price.

The springbar retaining loops look large- maybe for the gen Rolex springbars? Same old same old- know the seller.

I would think our asian counterparts would come up with some decent end pieces sooner or later. The other day I used an extra link from a noobmariner on a genuine 93150- it fit beautifully- the only tell is the slightly smaller screw.

The gen EL's don't fit all, they have to be bended a little. I have seen that some fit without modifications, and other not. I use at the most 455B from wholesaleout, they are perfect without any bending or modification, and they accept gen springbars... ;)

Yes, the fake 455b are very well done and fits all my vintage reps.

They look gen from the pics. Please do show me a pic from the rear side and possibly a clear one from the inside - showing finish and stuff...

Stephane, yours both look gen to me as I see the pics. It is true that there are differences in production and that some are built different from others. Still, with some bending you should get them to fit.

Thanks Q,

Here some more shots.

Bending is an art in my opinion ;)

With my great skills, as I need to "open" them, I will probably destroy them :Jumpy:

What do you think? Should I try to open them :g:

Stephane is right ...

i had problems with 580s and the 1680 MBW just did not fit as it should ... in the end put the 1680 on 501b ends ...

The 1665 MBW on the other hand had no problems to take the 580s ...

Laz

You're right Laz, 501b are fitting better than 580 not "open" ...

On top of this, shouldn't 585 EL be better? What is your experience guys? :o

Cheers

Oka just checked i have 585s on my 1665 MBW ... that T put together as i remember he said they fitted NP ...

Laz

They look Gen to me.

There are small difference in shape between

580 and 585 Endlinks.

585 are better for 1665.

Ok guys, well you confirm what I have read:

1680 goes with 580s (if bended because we have reps)

1665 goes with 585s.

But, what I also read, is that 585 are going for much more money than 580s :(

I'll play around with a set of 580s and see if I can have them fit better...

@Cats: sorry for the thread crapping, but you and I need loads of informations on this topic.

This is no thread crapping Stephane.

As you said it gives valuable information to all of us.

Ergo the endlinks look gen

580 is the end link for a 1680

With a good pencil and some luck i will manage to get them fixed to a 1680.

Carpe Diem
