robertb Posted June 7, 2008 Report Posted June 7, 2008 Gen rubber strap came in today and it kicks a$$. The polished SS band was a bit much for an already flashy watch, the rubber strap tones it down considerably and gives the SA a perfect blend of bling and sport. Love the look! Noe this piece is done... gen dial + lello dw + gen hands would make it perfect but I'll stop here. Gen rubber strap Gen bezel Chieftang AR The Zigmeister lume The Zigmeister serviced movement Professionally refinished by yours truly. Stunning combo and I can't stop looking at it! Please excuse the little beige fuzzies, they are from my fingerprint removing cloth. Too lazy to re-shoot the photos.
rodwc Posted June 7, 2008 Report Posted June 7, 2008 I will be fully honest here when I say that I do not like rubber straps, but I have to admit that the gen Breit. rubber strap certainly does this watch justice. It takes the eye away from the flashy bracelet directly to the watch itself. Along with all the other mods. and especially the jet black dial all make this piece a real stunner. Very nice indeed.
andreww Posted June 7, 2008 Report Posted June 7, 2008 Wow! Very nice piece. If it weren't for my girl wrists I'd buy one of these!
iceberg1459 Posted June 7, 2008 Report Posted June 7, 2008 wow, looks amazing with rubber strap, first time i like a breitling too bad its too big for my girlie wrists.. wear it in good health man
Sir-Lancelot Posted June 7, 2008 Report Posted June 7, 2008 That looks great. Very very nice time piece. Wear it well.
HauteHippie Posted June 7, 2008 Report Posted June 7, 2008 Wow. That's a SA done right and sure to turn some heads!
andreww Posted June 7, 2008 Report Posted June 7, 2008 Curious as to why you didn't throw a lello datewheeel on while it was in for service?
ta8088 Posted June 7, 2008 Report Posted June 7, 2008 Looks fantastic! I need to get mine finished. I agree that a gen Pro Diver or calf is the way to go with one of these. The rep bracelet is a weak link and going with a gen strap tones it down just right anyway. Enjoy!
ta8088 Posted June 7, 2008 Report Posted June 7, 2008 Curious as to why you didn't throw a lello datewheeel on while it was in for service? Probably didn't have one. I waited to long to stock up on them as well and know I'm going to have to pick and choose which projects will get them.
shultz Posted July 1, 2008 Report Posted July 1, 2008 @ rob May I ask you whether the bezel swap is an easy fix? I am owning a brandnew gen bezel and I am considering a rep purchase to build up a Franken SA as well.
Watchmeister Posted July 1, 2008 Report Posted July 1, 2008 Congrats on a great project. It looks really good on the rubber strap. The strap tones it down.
deltatahoe Posted July 1, 2008 Report Posted July 1, 2008 wow -- looks fantastic you mind me asking what watch you used as your base (& which collector you got it from)? thanks in advance, deltatahoe
2a5t2f7 Posted July 1, 2008 Report Posted July 1, 2008 Nice work on putting together a stunning piece. All great choices.....
