rmcsherry Posted July 4, 2006 Report Posted July 4, 2006 Anybody else seen this? It's a Panerai concept car from UMEA institute of Art and Design in Sweden. I can't find any more information about it yet, this image came from an article at Car Design News What do you think?!
Pugwash Posted July 4, 2006 Report Posted July 4, 2006 Anybody else seen this? It's a Panerai concept car from UMEA institute of Art and Design in Sweden. Looks like a CGI concept car concept.
rmcsherry Posted July 4, 2006 Author Report Posted July 4, 2006 It is - this is an MA Automotive Design major project carried out by one student. He has probably realised the model in 1/4 scale as well, but this is the only image I have at the moment. I've just finished a 4 year BA in Automotive Design, so was curious what other Panerai fans think about this idea - I personally think it's interesting, but other than the graphic on the nose I can't see the Panerai influence (maybe the interior will be more distinctive).
HighDef Posted July 4, 2006 Report Posted July 4, 2006 I think the most important is,,how do you see the road when you are driving.
rmcsherry Posted July 4, 2006 Author Report Posted July 4, 2006 I think we're supposed to look past that - I'm personally more concerned with the wheels; could you imagine being hit with exposed tyres? It's got to hurt!
Highflyingclive Posted July 4, 2006 Report Posted July 4, 2006 The lack of front mudguards would make it illegal on UK roads. As would the inability to see where you are going.
Watchmeister Posted July 4, 2006 Report Posted July 4, 2006 This looks like my childhood go kart with the cockpit covered to protect it from rain. Hell, I guess I thought of this one 35 years ago. And I didn't go to design school.
KB Posted July 4, 2006 Report Posted July 4, 2006 You're all missing the point..........look at it's shape, it's made for land and sea..................finally the answer to who has the best sub Ken
cornerstone Posted July 4, 2006 Report Posted July 4, 2006 So I'm guessing that the only bit that actually works on this car is the clock! Are you sure this isn't a British car then?!
fritz Posted July 5, 2006 Report Posted July 5, 2006 Panerai making Ferrari watches, Ferrari making Panerai Cars? hmmm.
mossanti Posted July 5, 2006 Report Posted July 5, 2006 maybe that major student should design with more interesting idea..putting some elements from panerai history
