Should my watch wind when I'm doing the crown up?

I have a few reps and it does it on some and not others.

My new Superavenger continues to wind when I am locking the crown after setting the time etc. It winds all the way until the crown is full screwed in and can't be turned anymore.

On other reps, as soon as I push the crown in tight to screw it back in, there is no resistance.

Which is normal?

There's usually a clutch in the crown when the spring is compressed that is not included or at least not working on most reps. It's not a problem with the movement (there is no "neutral" in the movement...if the stem turns the right direction the movement winds). A longer stem as Freddy notes might help activate the clutch, but I wouldn't worry about it.
