Bazz Posted July 9, 2006 Report Posted July 9, 2006 Heres some pics of my 187 on a mf strap, these are a very nice chunky piece!
sevomd Posted July 9, 2006 Report Posted July 9, 2006 I think it looks really nice on the tan strap. Eddy
mackdaddy Posted July 9, 2006 Report Posted July 9, 2006 I think it looks much better with the tan strap than with the rubber one. I thought the 187 was not for me, but after seeing these pics, I am reconsidering.
exper Posted July 9, 2006 Report Posted July 9, 2006 Absolutely stunning in those pics, infact so stunning that I have ended up ordering one since EL's running those great package deals
Usil Posted July 9, 2006 Report Posted July 9, 2006 Is there a SS bracelet available for this? I would like to try to get this up to a pound for wrist weight. One on each wrist maybe. Usil
ravishingrick Posted July 9, 2006 Report Posted July 9, 2006 You've got a winner... The best looking strap for the 187 I have seen thus far...
docblackrock Posted July 9, 2006 Report Posted July 9, 2006 Bazz, is that a 1942 strap??? Did you oil it? Has a nice patina... Hmmm, may have to try this combo out for myself (have a 1942 on my 217) - looks great
Finepics Posted July 9, 2006 Report Posted July 9, 2006 The best way to get a Patina on the MF 1942 is to soak it, dry it (with a hair dryer) then soak it and dry again. Then rub and rub and rub with thumbs (you will get sore fingers) and watch the glossy shine appear. This will age it years in a day. You should not really oil leather. The best Patina I have ever seen is on the old horse leather WW2 US A2 flying jackets and I know they should never be oiled.
Bazz Posted July 10, 2006 Author Report Posted July 10, 2006 Thanks for the nice comments guys. @docblackrock Yea its a 1942, I have not done anything to it though I did leave it out in the back yard for a week when I first got it. Another strap that gets a great patina is the gabo ones, they start off quite pale but darken over time (will look great with a pvd) I should have some pics of before and after if you want. @Finepics Thanks might give it a go.

Bazz Posted July 10, 2006 Author Report Posted July 10, 2006 Heres some more pics this time on a Europelli bomber jacket.
Dario33 Posted July 11, 2006 Report Posted July 11, 2006 MF is beautiful on this watch! Nicely done!!
