Hi does anybody know of a more reliable source than ebay to get genuine bezel for my 16610 project? Maybe even genuine dial as well?

Thanks!

After ebay, you need to start cultivating a relationship with a watchmaker who has a parts account with Rolex. And he'd have to be sympathetic to your replica based proclivities.

I look for parts on the Vintage Rolex Forum also, but those guys are way proud of their parts to the point of being unrealistic, IMO.

Haven't got to the modern rolex forum yet, because I generally do OK on ebay- you just have to practice patience and persistence- just keep looking and don't get caught up paying too much- eventually you'll find what you're looking for at a reasonable price. A genuine bezel insert, 315-16800, for a modern sub is going to run $60-100 on ebay. I just bought a nice tritium insert for my 16800 for $65.

Im interested in both the bezel and insert. I thought purchasing a gen bezel meant it would include a gen insert but I can see that may not be the case.

How much do gen bezels typically sell for? I guess ebay is my best option.

Gen complete bezel (include insert) retail price is around 300$

It's pretty hard to find

I bought one a few months ago for 250euro

A gen bezel will not fit a replica sub, unless you use a genuine retaining ring (add more $) or you rework the rep retaining ring like my watchmaker did.

I'm just curious if anyone has tried this aftermarket 16800 bezel ring, insert, click spring and flat washer from Faisal Ali down here in beautiful Sugar Land. Of course, he's one part short of the complete assembly- the the bottom tension (retaining) ring which goes down first and secures the crystal and gasket.

EDIT: Here's the complete assembly- has anyone tried this?

Those Florida Watch and Jewelers Supply inserts look GREAT.

Dropped them a line a few days ago about a 16600 insert. Hopefully they can get em.

I am going down town miami tomorrow to look at some complete gen bezels assembles and inserts. I will post pics after I get them.

I managed to get a NOS genuine 16800 bezel with washer, spring and retaining ring (same as 16610). And you know what? It does not fit a 2008 Euromariner case. At least not mine.

The bezel ring works perfect with the standard retaining ring from the Euromariner, but the gen retaining ring is too large in inner diameter. With a genuine gasket it can not held in place properly. It's enough to pull the bezel ring off - you'll have the complete retaining ring in your hands.

I tried Faisal Ali's aftermarket assembly, too. Did not work on my Euromariner either...

Interesting. If you're using a genuine gasket, that should fit perfect with the 16800/16610 retaining ring.

Genuine gasket fitting the case would indicate that the diameter of the case lip to hold the gasket is of correct measurement. If that's of correct measurement, the O.D. should be of correct size to allow the retaining ring to properly seat and seal; especially if it's NOS.

Very odd...

The gen gasket sits nicely in the gen retaining ring, but not tight enough on the euromariner case :(
