Pugwash
it makes it somewhat difficult to tell the accuracy. it makes me think they're trying to hide the flaws. Taking face-on shots is not straight-forward. Also, it makes the watch look flat and lifeless. Something to hide? If this were the case, every dealer review would mention it. If this were the case, every dealer review would mention it. if you take a shot of a rolex that is not strait on you cannot see if the date is centered. every shot you see of a po is taken to make the hands look the correct lenth. yes they absolutly do it to hide the flaws. all of them should be required to take atleast one shot of the dial head on. Try it: Take a photo of a watch straight on and tell us how easy it is.
ubiquitous
Try it: Take a photo of a watch straight on and tell us how easy it is. Definitely! Not as easy as it sounds... Quite honestly, there isn't much that one can hide from an angled shot; only thing that I can think of is date magnification. In most cases, alignment of date font and hand length can be determined from dealer pics; they do tend to take pics of the same watch from more than one angle

dosanim
Come on, Photo experts! Shine a truth for the rest of us! BTW, REp is REp, so I expect to see some flaw. Otherwise, very little flaw, but still will be, so I'll just enjoy well taken shots.
shimside11
I have noticed several SMP rep fotos that have the bezel about three clicks off 12:00 to make the HE valve look positioned correctly. I've always thought that was amusing and amaturish.
Guest TTK
The title of your topic is.....how come none of the dealers give straight shots of their reps I think these will lend the lie to your statement....NOT A CASE OF EVERY DEALER.....IN FACT I BELIEVE IN THE INTEGRITY OF ALL THE DEALERS HERE........it's the members I refuse to trust.......if anyone is engaged in deceit.....well..........does the shoe fit or not.........conspiracy theorists are everywhere....! CARE TO REVISE THE TITLE OF YOUR TOPIC AND STOP MISLEADING OTHER MEMBERS......? Edited July 10, 2006 by TTK

I've always thought that was amusing and amaturish. Actually the funny thing about this is that I (and I suspect most members) don't use the bezel to check the HE valve, I used the Ten o'clock marker on the dial.
