adrenalin Posted September 18, 2008 Report Posted September 18, 2008 Greetings all, I ran across this. It is represented as a 1970's cal 861. It looks gen to me, but I dont have the hawk-eyes that you guys do... Real or Rep? As a follow up question, what would you consider paying for such a piece? Thanks! -K
By-Tor Posted September 18, 2008 Report Posted September 18, 2008 Looks very much genuine to me... and what a beauty it is.
dluddy Posted September 18, 2008 Report Posted September 18, 2008 Looks like a genuine 1974 Cal 861 moonie to me Typically sell in the 2.5K range....
whitestripes Posted September 18, 2008 Report Posted September 18, 2008 Gen. I wouldn't pay that high for a non cal. 321 watch.
Shundi Posted September 18, 2008 Report Posted September 18, 2008 Gen and I agree, the 321 is money...
capice Posted September 18, 2008 Report Posted September 18, 2008 gen, probably between 1200 and 1700 euro, nice
Toadtorrent Posted September 18, 2008 Report Posted September 18, 2008 Looks good. I like that dial. It looks to be a 3570.50 given the bracelet. It may have a replaced Hesalite or aftermarket crystal...hard to say...or that one is in outstanding condition. I'm not a vintage crystal expert so I couldn't tell you if it's the correct one or not but it looks like the right shape. The pics don't show it, but you might be able to look for the Omega sign in the middle of the crystal to see if it's a gen Omega one or cheaper aftermarket. In case you're wondering...the 861 was used post '68, and beats a little higher than the 321 used in the early 60's (21.6k vs. 18k).
tr4driver Posted September 20, 2008 Report Posted September 20, 2008 Gen. I just recently bought a 1977 Speedmaster very similar to this one and paid $1,500.00 for it.
Wordsmith419 Posted September 20, 2008 Report Posted September 20, 2008 Not to beat on a dead horse, but this is a gen 3570.50.
FxrAndy Posted September 20, 2008 Report Posted September 20, 2008 Rep 99 % sure, cheep chinese crap, but i will give you 50 bucks for it
Pugwash Posted September 21, 2008 Report Posted September 21, 2008 On eBay, that'd get $1600-$1800 right now with bracelet and box. Oh, unless it turns out the caseback isn't as genuine as it should be. I saw one with the same badly engraved caseback fetch a lot less than an identical one with a proper caseback. Yes, I've been looking.
