Mickey Padge
Sorry if this has already been posted.... There is a new Omega SMP chronograph out soon! Check it out here: http://www.joshwatch.com/0035-p-5072.html Blue: Black: Looks pretty good to me, I wonder if it has AR? I think the gen does, no? It may also still need an ETA date wheel swap though... Cheers!
chrgod
A classic in new clothes, slightly updated.... Just like the Porsche 911! Looks good, but I had hoped that they would fix the pearl, and align it in the center of the triangle. A new insert is cheap and easy, though. I just checked with my SMP franken, and the pearl is a tad low in the triangle, yes. I just wish they would use an ETA font date wheel, I mean, how hard could it be when you consider what they do with the Breitlings?.... Personally I prefer the old SMP version, but I am not sure if you can still order that one now? Cheers!
mars08
Is this the one Ruby is selling? I notice she has a "cheaper" SMP Chrono these days. The only diff I can spot is the properly aligned pearl. What other changes am I missing?

Fidestro
I hope the bracelet on this one is better than the last version. It was too sharp on the back side.
Mickey Padge
I hope the bracelet on this one is better than the last version. It was too sharp on the back side. The bracelet is the weakest part of the watch by a very long way (at least the previous version was) It is in no way a good replication of the gen bracelet (which I have on my franken)..... The rep bracelet is the wrong thickness, has a really bad general quality finish, and screws, not pins! It feels really cheap, unlike the gen.... The crystal on the gen has only an internal AR coating. Being very picky....; Pearl is too low The date font is off Date window isn't quite right (white border too close to the edge) Definitely one to put on the wish list. Mickey Padge
Look at the lume markers, they are a different style and have been removed at 3, 6, 9 and 12, also see that "Seamaster" is red and the "Omega" is raised silver logo..... This is a replica of the new Omega SMP, the replica you (and I) have is of the old (now discontinued Omega) SMP chronograph... Cheers!

Mickey Padge
Here is my franken SMP chronograph After reading the thread and seeing all the pictures, this watch has found my wrist again!
Mickey Padge
and the markers on subdials are finaly red Do you mean the hands? If so the slightly orange hands from the previous replica are acceptable, as some of the genuine SMP's had the same slightly orange coloured subdial hands too
ExtraExtra
The size is 40mm? Does it wear like one?
Mickey Padge
The size is 40mm? Does it wear like one? It wears just a bit smaller than a Skyland, at least to me it feels/looks that way....
By-Tor
I really love my SMP Chrono. One of the definite keepers in my collection, and probably the last one I'd ever trade. Yeah, the bracelet quality isn't quite as good as on the old ETA SMP which is brilliant... but other than that... super accurate rep. Weird that mine came with the ETA font straight out of the box (from the very first batch ever). PS: Oiling helps with the bracelet "feel" on this rep as well. Mickey Padge
I was wondering, is there a rubber strap option for this watch? (genuine) I don't remember seeing any pictures of one on the boards, but it would solve the bracelet issue.....
Fidestro
It wears just a bit smaller than a Skyland, at least to me it feels/looks that way.... To me it feels quite a bit smaller than the Skyland. The Skyland was extremely uncomfortable to me, waaayyy too thick. The SMP is thicker than your average chrono but it still feels "wearable" to me, the Skyland did not.
By-Tor
and the markers on subdials are finaly red There are 2 different subdial marker colors on the gen: orange and red (a bit "pinkish" red). Both are definitely correct.
Toadtorrent
Here is my franken SMP chronograph After reading the thread and seeing all the pictures, this watch has found my wrist again! ...and I just posted a review of the old Classic one: I thought the rep bracelet was alright in feel...just not on the finish when you look close at the backside. But that's me...

I like it...and I was thinking of going the Skyland route but was afrai it would be too thick. I might have to go the Ebel Discovery route instead. mars08
Oh man, I can believe I missed the fact that it was the NEW red chrono. I gotta start paying more attention!
whitestripes
Why can't the get the applied logo correctly? The lines should be through the MIDDLE OF OMEGA, NOT THROUGH THE BOTTOM! If this happens on the new SMP Bond, I will be deeply, deeply disappointed.
