dadog13 Posted July 17, 2006 Report Posted July 17, 2006 Time ago in a watch magazine I saw this bad boy...Today i decided to take a look what can be found on the internet about it...and I found some links...interesting... I love the look of this vinty...I'll post a pic of it so for those who are not aware of how it looks can see that this is really one of the BIG watch family....I just love it... well, I would like to see a rep of it...who else? here is a link of a web page that tells you a litle more about it's history... ROLEX DEEP SEA SPECIAL
retep Posted July 17, 2006 Report Posted July 17, 2006 At looking from the side at that watch it is more like a fortune tellers crystal ball;
By-Tor Posted July 17, 2006 Report Posted July 17, 2006 Yeah, I read about this model somewhere. I think it sure is "interesting"...but also one of the ugliest watches I've ever seen. That TT bracelet really does the "trick".
leitztozeiss Posted July 17, 2006 Report Posted July 17, 2006 I like it, really. I just don't like the HUGE "Rolex" script on the dial. Ok, and maybe the crystal could be a bit shorter . . . a bit. That's a bit too superdome for me. Speaking of superdome . . .
Pugwash Posted July 17, 2006 Report Posted July 17, 2006 The ultimate tool watch. It wasn't designed to look pretty at all. I really like it, and its ugliness is part of that.
V Posted July 17, 2006 Report Posted July 17, 2006 It wasn't designed to look pretty at all. Yeah..that's why they used GOLD on the bracelet of a professional diver's watch
Pugwash Posted July 17, 2006 Report Posted July 17, 2006 Yeah..that's why they used GOLD on the bracelet of a professional diver's watch Yeah, I also hate it when they put gold on stereo plugs ... oh, wait. I imagine the gold was an attempt to give it some class.
V Posted July 17, 2006 Report Posted July 17, 2006 Yeah, I also hate it when they put gold on stereo plugs ... oh, wait. I imagine the gold was an attempt to give it some class. Stereo plugs, I understand. Diver's watch, I don't understand. Do you have any more inside info for the reason they chose the gold?
Pugwash Posted July 17, 2006 Report Posted July 17, 2006 Do you have any more inside info for the reason they chose the gold? Why yes. Rolex sold gold watches and wanted people to buy gold watches. Seriously, I don't know, but it didn't harm it at 11KM down.
flyback Posted July 17, 2006 Report Posted July 17, 2006 http://www.germano.de/germano-deu.htm give a look at his "nettuno" watch.
