Guest TTK Posted July 20, 2006 Report Posted July 20, 2006 (edited) Ok guys.....I just bought this in......my supplier can't confirm the movement ...other than it's Swiss (sic)......it has a working GMT feature......independently set......works on the 24hour standard or half hour and hour......it's automatic......I've had the back off and there are no markings.....it's a beautiful watch with blue dial and sub dial.....changes from almost grey blue to metallic blue depending on where the light source is.....! Pugwash Posted July 20, 2006 Report Posted July 20, 2006 Is this a new asian GMT movement that works properly? If so, I'll have it in a Rolex, please. Red/Black and ... oh, damn, second-hand in the wrong place.
V Posted July 20, 2006 Report Posted July 20, 2006 It looks like an PAM161 but with wrong colour dial. It is good though they have found how to make a nice blue dial and they can use it in other models
dadog13 Posted July 20, 2006 Report Posted July 20, 2006 I always prefer black or white dials on a PAM...maybe it is just because i've never had in my hands a blue dial PAM...
swdivad Posted July 20, 2006 Report Posted July 20, 2006 That's really nice! I prefer the seconds at 9 over the center seconds. How much is this one?
Maikel Posted July 20, 2006 Report Posted July 20, 2006 It looks like an PAM161 but with wrong colour dial. It is good though they have found how to make a nice blue dial and they can use it in other models It's a pam089 I believe http://www.montresinternational.com/The-Pa...ery-No_4092.htm
Pre V Posted July 20, 2006 Report Posted July 20, 2006 First glance it looks like a PAM 89 (except that it is in a titanium casing). A PAM 88 will have the same dial except with the second hands in white (same as PAM 161) - differences being in bracelet. In short, if the dial is black and the casing is replaced with a titanium, it'll definately pass off as a PAM 89 rep...a very nice rep indeed!
Watchmeister Posted July 20, 2006 Report Posted July 20, 2006 Actually its a one-of-a-kind protoype. It is beautiful though. I really like the look of the hand stack and center pinion (not the typical cheap Asian movement look) and the dial color. Neil- Very cool piece.
V Posted July 20, 2006 Report Posted July 20, 2006 Yeap.. sorry Neil.. I thought the 089 was black faced.. It is definately a 089 then
Watchmeister Posted July 20, 2006 Report Posted July 20, 2006 89 has anthracite dial (grey) and black sub-dial as your picture shows. Still love it though.
Guest TTK Posted July 20, 2006 Report Posted July 20, 2006 I really don't care....the dial on this is just stunning......the way it catches the light.....and changes......just beautiful......! I
Pugwash Posted July 20, 2006 Report Posted July 20, 2006 I really don't care....the dial on this is just stunning......the way it catches the light.....and changes......just beautiful......! If the Panerai experts couldn't initially figure out what model it was, but assumed it was a real model, then the Paneristi that could call it out would be equally stumped. Good enough for me. The GMT Movement does sound interesting if it clicks across.
jpmlora Posted July 20, 2006 Report Posted July 20, 2006 It's a pam089 I believe http://www.montresinternational.com/The-Pa...ery-No_4092.htm Nop!, because the dial is Anthracite, black sub-seconds see...

wheaton26 Posted July 20, 2006 Report Posted July 20, 2006 this is a good looking watch! can we see a better shot of the date window. a good date mag might sell it for me. oh, and price? thanks in advance.
rek001 Posted July 20, 2006 Report Posted July 20, 2006 That's a very beautiful watch, Neil. The dial color is so much richer and more interesting than the matte black of the usual Pams.
ehtolcad Posted July 21, 2006 Report Posted July 21, 2006 whatever model number it is, it looks damn fine to me. any chance of seeing her backside?
sssurfer Posted July 21, 2006 Report Posted July 21, 2006 Am I the only PAM nuts here? It is a PAM 228, a stunning piece and very well repped (with exception for the writings: 'FIRENZE' missing and 'Automatic' added). Congrats, TTK! Do you plan to sell it/them? (btw, I found it in my PAM table v2.1, posted here).
ehtolcad Posted July 21, 2006 Report Posted July 21, 2006 from panerai.com Unique edition of 100 units available only in the Florence Boutique so if you buy this, be sure to tell everyone you got it in florence....
Watchmeister Posted July 21, 2006 Report Posted July 21, 2006 Marco- You are the man. I will have to upgrade to version 2.1. If I wanted one before (which I did) I really want one now.

Table is already there, ready for you -- and for anyone who wants it. Btw, please remember to give me that info that you know...
ravishingrick Posted July 21, 2006 Report Posted July 21, 2006 A few minor flaws or not... This pam is drop dead gorgeous... Major props to the makers, I never though they would pull a acurate small second PAM gmt off....
