Brain Teaser Game!

By giving this hint I would say it´s 189.999,91 => 190.000. Otherwise Pug was already right in my eyes...

And for the new question I have to go back to school and practice some Australian - English... :whistling:

WINNER!!! :thumbsupsmileyanim:

The alligator.

WINNER!!! Yes, much better than having it attack you! (groan  )

Although I'm sure the gator would not be happy at being attacked by a croc.

That's because you're using percentages wrongly. :D

But with your answer, her percentage profit was 12.36% wasn't it?

I think we've even had this one on the forum before, but what the hey...

There are 5 houses in 5 different colours. In each house lives a person of a different nationality. The 5 owners drink a certain type of beverage, smoke a certain brand of cigar, and keep a certain pet. Using the clues below can you determine who owns the fish?

The Brit lives in a red house.

The Swede keeps dogs as pets.

The Dane drinks tea.

The green house is on the immediate left of the white house.

The green house owner drinks coffee.

The person who smokes Pall Mall rears birds.

The owner of the yellow house smokes Dunhill.

The man living in the house right in the middle drinks milk.

The Norwegian lives in the first house.

The man who smokes Blend lives next door to the one who keeps cats.

The man who keeps horses lives next door to the man who smokes Dunhill.

The owner who smokes Blue Master drinks beer.

The German smokes Prince.

The Norwegian lives next to the blue house.

The man who smokes Blend has a neighbour who drinks water.

No. 11% of the sale was profit, but it was a 12.36% markup. Both answers are right.

It's why people never use %profit unless they want to obfuscate their margins.

I see where you're coming from, 11% of the sale price, but the sale price includes the commission. I think the key turn of phrase in the question was probably "a profit of" - to my eyes anyway.

Fair enough.

Now how about this fish? :g:

(Yes is the correct answer! Unless it's no, then you're also right!!)

And where is Ken?

It doesn't matter if you add the comission before or after. They're percentages, therefore multiplicative.

It doesn't matter, unless you want to work out "a profit of". :winkiss:

See? That's the problem with these puzzles. If you're allowing interpretation to the levels of the croc/gator one, then I got it right. :D

Ok, I'll work it out for you.

I said you were right! :thumbsupsmileyanim:

It's so much harder to catch a passing submarine these days, isn't it? When will this Bracks government learn to sort public transport!!

:animal_rooster:

Good to have you back to the fold, comrade!! :yu:

The Crasssy Cannibals of RWGI Island have the annoying habit of eating each other. In fact, Big Crasssy went missing only last week, and it was thought he'd lost his way home until his bits and pieces were found on the beach. One evening, the Crasssys threw a dinner party, one of those bring-a-friend get-togethers. Six cannibals turned up and they decided to eat each other in turn. So someone was selected for everyone to eat (except the victim!), and when he had been eaten, someone else was selected, and so on. If it took one cannibal two hours on his own to devour one person, how long was it before just one consumer remained? :g:

Well if you ever need to induce narcolepsy the question is there. :yeah:

Try this for size:

A woman carefully steers with her pedal to the metal. She has covered the length of a football field while leaving a neat row of tracks behind her. Yet after the last yard, when she stands up, she's in the place where she began. Even though she didn't go in a circle or turn back, this is normal for her. What has just happened?

She does not move anywhere but is struck at the sawing machine.

The other problem really messed up my head. :yucky: :black_eye:

I've spent hours and finally came up with these.

Ok so a farmer has 30 hens and three roosters, in the hen house are 3 perches a lower, middle and higher perch. Every night 10 hens and a rooster settle on the lower perch, 10 hens and a rooster settle on the middle perch and 10 hens and a rooster settle on the highest perch. Now the famer didn't own all these hens and roosters, which ones did he own and why?

There are 3 black hats and 2 white hats. You and two others each have one of the 5 hats. You can all see what colour hats the others are wearing, but not your own. Everyone wants to be the first to work out the colour of their own hat. You can see one of them is wearing a black hat and the other a white hat.

How can you tell what colour yours is? :yeah:

Well i don't see anywhere in the question where it says you're not allowed to ask one of the others what hat you have on, not to mention you would have to see it when you are putting it on.

Hints for mine........................well it not a serious question.

Ken
