fotoman Posted January 14, 2009 Report Posted January 14, 2009 so. when will the whole watch world shut down for like a month? I couldn't find anything other than a single DATe and Iknow it's for awhile
Samurai Posted January 14, 2009 Report Posted January 14, 2009 In Singapore...we are closed on the 26th and 27th of Jan for the CNY. I believe it'll be much longer in CN.
fotoman Posted January 14, 2009 Author Report Posted January 14, 2009 yeah its like a month. like a blackout period for reps
Shundi Posted January 14, 2009 Report Posted January 14, 2009 Yeah I thought it was something like two weeks and everyone basically shuts down 5 days before and after that...
Samurai Posted January 14, 2009 Report Posted January 14, 2009 I have just sent a mail to Josh asking the closure dates. Am considering getting the FM Casablanca with updated dial and the UN Red/Black. I want the FM in black dial...which is not here yet....so might go with the UN. Want to ensure that the watch gets to me before CNY.
Samurai Posted January 14, 2009 Report Posted January 14, 2009 Ok...got the answer. The last date of shipment from China is the 18th of Jan and deliveries will resume on the 10th of Feb. Cheers
fakemaster Posted January 15, 2009 Report Posted January 15, 2009 They generally don't announce things like this because they want to keep taking your money.
KB Posted January 15, 2009 Report Posted January 15, 2009 Well my supplier will go through until the 19th and maybe the 20th and will return on the 3rd. ken
narikaa Posted January 15, 2009 Report Posted January 15, 2009 On the ground in GZ its 19th thru 3rd .
digitalnrg Posted January 15, 2009 Report Posted January 15, 2009 I believe the factory close down from Jan 15 through Feb 10. That's a whopping 25 days. Postal office will also close for a least a week as well.
hogan1 Posted January 16, 2009 Report Posted January 16, 2009 According to two Chinese ladies at my office, it starts on the eve of the 26th and lasts until the next Saturday. So officially, it lasts a week. Unofficially it can apparantely drag on...

edgematic Posted January 17, 2009 Report Posted January 17, 2009 how about thailand? I have an order from Chris that has been sent on the 7th of december 08. He was going to send me a replacement. I think he would send it the upcoming week. Will thailand also be influenced by the CNY?
RedSoxMan Posted January 18, 2009 Report Posted January 18, 2009 Thailand isn't affected by this. RSM
KB Posted January 18, 2009 Report Posted January 18, 2009 That is as long as the people Chris has working for him in Thailand are not in fact Chinese. Ken
narikaa Posted January 19, 2009 Report Posted January 19, 2009 Thailand isn't affected by this. RSM Ostensibly it's not But If Bangkok wholesalers need to order new stock then actually they are affected (just like everyone else) .
