I put in a gen crown (part 931) on this noob exp2. The tube is an aftermarket tube that screws in the noob case. Gen/generic tube requires re-tapping which I hate doing so I looked and looked for one that doesn't need re-tapping. It took me a while to finally find the tube I want. It's a bit long so I had to trim it short. I also had to countersink the hole. The result is excellent. BTW, I also trimmed the CGs. Enjoy.

Ahhhhhhhhh, nice. There is nothing like the smooth feel of a gen crown.

looks like mine, which watchdog did. my tube was aftermarket as well, but I am pretty sure it needed re tapping.

Yours looks awesome, maybe I will give you a call for my exp I :)

What strikes me in these pictures is how polished your CG looks, I commented recently on Lani's BK WM9 Sub that also had a super polished CG which is (I've found) a real gen feature that most reps skip out on... Any extra effort go into this?

I can confirm that the cg's are stock,i got the EXP II from BK a couple of weeks ago and i sent it over to Domenico for cg's re-shape and gen crown/tube installment. The watch looks really great.Just take a look of how it looks before the gen crown install

Great rep indeed, but gen crown is a must! :good:

Honestly, I have no idea. I only remember it's a 6mm twinlock.

I seem to recall 24-6020 for the tube. The conundrum here is that the 24-6030(?) I believe has the same case threading/tap size as a 5.3mm tube; the older 602 style should have the larger size tap, which I believe should be the same for the rep. Been a while since I've had to deal with the 6mm crowns, though...

It's interesting how there are different types of twinlock for ExpII/GMTII. Other (that was used in the older models) is a bit rounder and has more apparent threads/cuts (similar as BK's crown) and the other one that newer GMTs and ExpIIs use is flatter from both sides.

a little warning - the fat rep-crown make sense -

if you put a gen crown you will soon realize that it sits way too low - i didnt get used to it ;)

cheers,

Too low? You mean the vertical crown position?

Nope, not on this model. The wrong hand stack version is 98% exact, the CHS version is 100% spot on.

You're right. It's much worse on the GMT rep. ExpII is great in this regard.
