bklm1234
I put in a gen crown (part 931) on this noob exp2. The tube is an aftermarket tube that screws in the noob case. Gen/generic tube requires re-tapping which I hate doing so I looked and looked for one that doesn't need re-tapping. It took me a while to finally find the tube I want. It's a bit long so I had to trim it short. I also had to countersink the hole. The result is excellent. BTW, I also trimmed the CGs. Enjoy. -bk
Nanuq
Ahhhhhhhhh, nice. There is nothing like the smooth feel of a gen crown.
its_urabus
looks like mine, which watchdog did. my tube was aftermarket as well, but I am pretty sure it needed re tapping. Yours looks awesome, maybe I will give you a call for my exp I

ammandel
What strikes me in these pictures is how polished your CG looks, I commented recently on Lani's BK WM9 Sub that also had a super polished CG which is (I've found) a real gen feature that most reps skip out on... Any extra effort go into this?
bklm1234
The CGs are stock except for the inside trim. I didn't polish them and of course I didn't scratch them during the trim -bk
jmarin.72
I can confirm that the cg's are stock,i got the EXP II from BK a couple of weeks ago and i sent it over to Domenico for cg's re-shape and gen crown/tube installment. The watch looks really great.Just take a look of how it looks before the gen crown install And here is a double shot side by site with my gen
concepta
Whats the correct gen crown/tube? 24-600?
By-Tor
Great rep indeed, but gen crown is a must!
concepta
Great rep indeed, but gen crown is a must! ..and what should i be looking for? 24-600? 24-700? 24-500?
By-Tor
Honestly, I have no idea. I only remember it's a 6mm twinlock.
ubiquitous
I seem to recall 24-6020 for the tube. The conundrum here is that the 24-6030(?) I believe has the same case threading/tap size as a 5.3mm tube; the older 602 style should have the larger size tap, which I believe should be the same for the rep. Been a while since I've had to deal with the 6mm crowns, though...
By-Tor
It's interesting how there are different types of twinlock for ExpII/GMTII. Other (that was used in the older models) is a bit rounder and has more apparent threads/cuts (similar as BK's crown) and the other one that newer GMTs and ExpIIs use is flatter from both sides. stilty
in the gen world, tube would be 24-5300 crown would be 24-630-
concepta
in the gen world, tube would be 24-5300 crown would be 24-630-0 And that would be a clean installment?

Star69
a little warning - the fat rep-crown make sense - if you put a gen crown you will soon realize that it sits way too low - i didnt get used to it cheers, Frank
ubiquitous
And that would be a clean installment? N- If you get a 602-0 6mm crown, you may find that it will thread onto the rep tube as-is. At least, that's what I've experienced...

You mean the vertical crown position? Nope, not on this model. The wrong hand stack version is 98% exact, the CHS version is 100% spot on. By-Tor
yes - the vertical postition - BUT on the Noob-GMT-Master looks like its better on the Explorer You're right. It's much worse on the GMT rep. ExpII is great in this regard.
