Replica Watch Guide?

dabom

Recommended Posts

Hi dabom,

In short, Blade disappeared for a long time with no notice of where he went. This site was created as that one spun out of control. Then one day, Blade rose from the dead and updated his site. He has explained what happened on his site and there are some discussions about it here and there.

As a result, both remain in operation.

HTH.

I thought replica watch guide was dead

It is. What you're seeing is the corpse being flayed by sado-masochistic necrophiliacs, hoping to get enough heat in the muscles so they can extract themselves. It's quite sad. :animal_rooster:

There are four primary forums left. RWG2 (here), RWI, TRC and WT, in order of activity.

Although arch scamster NLee seems to like it, now that she's taken up residence in RWG1's six a day 'lets pretend we're not selling reps' PG2 section.

A tacit indication in itself of the relative standing of the 'necrophiliacs ball' (known affectionatley elsewhere as ' The Mutual Masterbation Society' tee hee )

All I want to add is that this is RWG!

Let's be honest about this, we have both the members and the style of RWG because that was the objective when this board was created, to import RWG and not just to set up another board a a failsafe for when the old one crashed.

Many members worked hard to bring this board to reality including those at the helm on the old board now.

The only thing we couldn't recreate was Blade so as he has resurfaced and revived his board everyone needs to ask themselves if Blade was RWG or if the board was in fact bigger than the individual.

I like all the forums and tend to visit each in turn, according to my mood, for each has a personality of its own. OK, RepFanatic hasn't really taken off yet... but give it time.

All the others are well established and each is excellent at what they do. I certainly hold no allegiance to one over another and dispair when I hear members of one forum disparaging members of another.

Necrophillics?

C'mon, give us a break. It's about enjoying watches, not starting a fatwa.

Yes, I agree to a point,..

However ...Each board owes it's very existance to a loyal core whose blood courses

through the veins and keeps it alive..

I guess it depends upon your reasons for being there,.. which are all related to how much

you plan on giving -vs- taking..

We all know that some simply use the boards for watch purchases, or to gawk & be entertained

never posting, or contributing anything of worth...

Others take a more grounded, rooted, attitude which requires a loyalty to a certain community...

We can't all be social butterflys... or as some are,.. blood sucking mosquitoes...

or there would not be a board for this discussion to take place... ^_^

I agree, it's all about the watches. Old RWG seems to be about DeviantArt and Athena Posters. There's so little about watches it's not even mildly off-topic.

Imagine, everyone on Old RWG comes here or to RWI to talk about watches. Old RWI is the bike sheds where the outcasts go to skag-up.

Edit: Sorry, I forgot the :D

Butterflies, Richard, the plural is "butterflies". If you must be contentious, at least try to be grammatical.

I think that your prose falls down, slightly, over the mosquitos, too. Silly.

I repeat... its about enjoying watches. Only that.

Mosquitoes is Plurl for Mosquito my dear Clive..though I have always thought

those that had to resort to the red spelling marker, had nothing left in retort...

Which to me,... is the ultimate definition of 'Silly'...

Just for the record, I was not referring to you.... though if you take insult from it..

that's a matter between you and the mirror....

This is more than about watches... for some of us.. it's about holding together a community...

or none of us would have the luxury of these watches you keep mentioning...

Off Topic

Clive, are you or were you at some stage an English teacher?

Just my two bit's.............it's all about watches to the members but (as Kevin stated) it's all about holding a community together for the Admin's of the boards, that's their jobs and that's what they have to do.

The fact that we also love watches really goes without saying.

Richard, I have been collecting replicas for a very long time. I have seen forums rise and forums fall. I have seen dealers come and go. The only constant is that some of the collectors who preceeded me - and who helped me along the way - are still with us. And you will find them on all the boards. They are not territorial... they just enjoy watches.

P.S. Did you notice that a review of the Vulcain Cricket has been requested on RWG1? I believe that you own one of these watches. Your comments would be appreciated.

I am going to post a full review on the cricket .. but here, my home.... ;)

... jeeze.... now I'm going to have to run my posts through a spell and grammer checker...

The good o'l days & freedom of just being able to post your random thoughts on a bulletin

board are gone.... ^_^ .. it's back to school...

I leave this subject with a mind picture of a locust swarm picking a communal fruit orchard clean...

then moving on to the next one... :D

Mention the Cricket ... and you can't get off the subject of insects. We have had butterflys (sic), mosquitos, and now locusts. What next?

As Mr Pugwash, quite rightly, pointed out to me, when you go into bat, you should be sure that your grammar, spelling and syntax are correct, unless you wish to appear to be a total plonker.

Don't bother with the spell-check. Employ your education. That is what it is for.

Resisting the urge to apply insect epithets would be appreciated.

Where is the "excellence"and what is so 'excellent' in regards to the MMS or RWG 1..?

its about enjoying watches. Only that.

If it's about enjoying watches....how can that be achieved on RWG 1.....it seems more inclined towards...torpitude......and an almost obsessive compulsion towards defending it's Administrator ....who...let's face it....showed no concern at all over his members....left them hanging and returned with a limp Johnson excuse that his sycophantic followers ate up quicker than a tramp into a bag of chips......!

As has been said.....it's a slow rotting corpse that attracts only bottom feeders who scavenge the corpse in the hope of a morsel or two.......but truth is.....the corpse has been stripped clean.......enjoy your pickings Clive.....for myself and many others.......the real banquet is here on RWG ..with a host who likes to take care of his guests....and guests who have something to offer ....other than Athena poster prints.....!
