  1. This will be my 3rd attempt at putting together a 201/A. The first was a checkbook build, built and purchased from Brobert almost 3 years ago. He did his usual amazing work with the finish and fitment, especially the V cg (remember the frenzy when those first came out?). Great times and when modding really took off parts-wise. Found these pics of that first one... Then I got a little crazy a year and a half later with a gen part out. Used the gen case and cg. FGD dial again (V2 pale yellow and recessed indices that for some reason look raised in some pics). Jakob case back. Dirk strap. Now I'm collecting parts for my 3rd one and doing a little more of the work on it myself than before. Install a Swiss movement from Ofrei. Smooth dome the CP. Lume app the FGD hands. Fine tune the cg shape (including machining the lever pin and applying the correct brushed finish). This cg is going to be 1:1. The latest FGD dial is really nice. Hard to see in my pic, but the indices have a nice depth and the yellow color of the lume is slightly darker, more intense than previous versions. Crown/tube are with member w0lf waiting to be fitted to his latest Pre V group case set project. Xtal TBD. And the new jakob case back that just arrived is as impressive as before, maybe a tad thicker this time, feels a little heavier too plus the engraving is a little more refined. Unlumed FGD hands are in the mail... thanks Matt!

  3. If you don't know who he was, you should... The leading horologist of the 20th century has died at 85, a great loss. His legacy will live on with Omega. Sad day for sure.

  5. Orloff is one of my favorite strap makers, and for my two new favorite PAMs, who else would I commission for some lovely new shoes. Presenting his much loved Golden JV and his Vachetta Camello both in 24/24 for my 000s. Perfect for these twins.

  7. Why not just stick two dial feet into the movement in the correct holes, dab on some epoxy onto the back of the dial feet and place the dial onto the feet and line up the date wheel and window? Then let it dry. Seems like it would be a lot easier method.

  11. Hey guys, Finally made it back to my online home and the feckin builders have been in and changed it all!!?!! It would appear my Plati status has gone too for some reason? Could a Mod possibly PM on that please, it may just be the new layout!? I can't thank all you guys enough, especially Hike and Pete!! They have been in touch regularly by text, sometimes getting an answer, sometimes only a letter, but still they kept coming!! Thank you so much for the support! I will PM everyone personally when I figure out how to drive this new bugger!! Bottom line of hospital, I have been told I now need to move into assisted living, I'm being forced to sell my home, bikes, truck has already gone and my watches need to go too! So usual suspects send me a quick PM if you can, first dibs of course! Thank you all once again, not for the first time my family on here has made my life better!! Sixx

  12. Personally I would contact Ken and ask him if he can source that style for you and what he considers the quality to be.... You can always trust Ken for an honest opinion and if he can help he will

  13. Well I did practice on an old powder coated hard drive cage first! My 'goal' was to see if I could remove a sharp edge from the cage with minimal removal of the powdercoat on either surface. Actually with a small piece of emery cloth this was easy so I went ahead and had a go on the clasp. Then just for fun (because I really am that sad) I then had a go at poloshing up the surface of the cage. Got it to a nice shiny finish with the oil, so I felt confident I could brush out any scratches I made on the side of the clasp. Took me back to metalwork classes at school ...

  14. Is It possible for you to take some pics of the problem area? I believe that might help. It might also be a good idea to bring this to your "friendly watch repair mans" attention..If you havent done so as of yet. The head of the Omega PO is quite heavy...some feel that it is not the most balanced watch In the world....That might be part of the problem....although I find mine quite comfortable. Good luck with this issue. Mike
