  2. Haven't posted a build for a while, here's my Rolex 6200,( no high end parts used) Thanks to Nanuq for the case dimensions! Much appreciated. The plexi on an angle shows many cracks, but straight on profile not so much. The case was thinned out to better suit the original dimensions then Beveled, and softened. Lugs drilled. Crown tube drilled /tapped. Aged case and polished many times. Bezel was shaped and beveled, nickel and brass finish. Insert bleached Yuki pearl Dial was aged, relumed. Hands plated, aged relumed Serviced Swiss movement Plexi from 1975 original cracks and wear. Caseback has MI5 007 stamped . Few pics Here you can see the difference in case sizes.

  5. Mine is a 1st generation 'Tiger' case. I made the dial by using brass stock cut in a rough round shape (maybe octogonish) with a tin snips. Flatten it out with a small hammer, drill the center hole. Then using a bamboo shish-ka-bob skewer as an axle, spin it on edge against a fine stone bench grinder, checking to size/diameter. A metal axle will enlarge the hole, and a toothpick will break, while bamboo is a perfect tool and can be used for many mods. I then use a decal. If you are careful it won't harm a finished dial. Is your 'Tiger' case the V2? It looks as though it is a gen style mounting for the crystal, using a retainer to hold the crystal, and the wire spring to hold and spin the coin edge bezel. Is that the way you got it, or was that machined for you as well?

  7. An easier way is to attach the dial to a dremel cutting wheel bit and spin it. Use some sandpaper on the edge and check often. I would not risk this with an expensive gen dial but did it to my $30 raffles dial with good results.

  12. They were printed by Slartibartfast, who hasn't been on forum in a while... It's five step, two transfer process: First prep the dial blank with matte white paint. Then apply backing decal (builds up saturation of the black, but leaves white areas for text and hour markers) Then apply top decal and align, which puts the lettering and markers in place, and allow to dry. Then apply lume of choice to markers, cut the centre hole with a scalpal and then spray with matte varnish to seal it all If the outer diameter of the dial is 29mm, even if this doesn't go quite to the outer edge, I'd think the rehaut would cover that once it's cased up

  15. Just to be clear, if what the OP laid out is correct then yes he was the wronged party. However RWI has a policy on how to deal with these situations and they also have a very strong policy against PP disputes...why? Because it is the people who use PP as a first option that are destroying our hobby, most dealers who have years of excellent reviews cannot use PP because of the selfish, unrealistic or instant gratification people who, by starting PP disputes, have seen their accounts closed. Even this forum which has been a safe haven for so many has suffered many problems because of PP issues. All the RWI team asked was to be given time to sort the issue their way, no one would have begrudged the OP starting a dispute if time was running out and there was no resolution but he states clearly that he opened the dispute within days. The other party may very well be trying to scam...but then he may also have simply gone on a business trip too. As I said before all these boards are privately owned, they have their own rules and if you wish to be a part of the community then you are expected to follow those rules, your preferred business practices simply do not count. 16. In my current FS threads I've stipulated that buyers should have > 200 posts and have been a member for at least a year or can get a regular to vouch for them. A bit cheeky as I've not quite been here a year myself, but like all of these things theyre flexible, and are there just so I can be sure they're not a fly by night new member out to scam people. Any long term membership on any forum is valid as far as I'm concerned (they need to prove that account is them obviously) It's annoying to have to do, and probably tees off more than one new member and loses a few possible sales but I'm not in a hurry, someone will come along eventually.

  18. I've just measured the decals, and they must about measure 29mm (more likely 28.5-/+) did you need 29mm viewable, or just 29mm for overall dial size? Here're some photos of how the look assembled... Dial prior to installation... Installed... On Wrist...

  19. I shall upgrade you now mate..... You should walk out of your house and find the nearest large public space and stand in the middle of it ....I then want you to get on bended knee and hold your rep in your hand aloft.... I then want you to say out loud.... "This rep shall restore my soul and mind; this great forum of the RWG shall guide me in the path of righteous reps For RWG name's sake. And even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of gen wearers , I shall fear no evil, for RWG art with me; Your reps and Your advice, they shall comfort me. RWG members shall prepare a table or list of great reps before me in the presence of all and lay asunder those who consider us charlatans; RWG shall have anointed my head and my wrist with light clock oil; And my reps shall overflow in the land of the gens..." Now once you have repeated this twice...once on a Wednesday and once on a Sunday outside church...then you shall be upgraded my son and shall arise from your bended knee a man of reps and RWG... honest !!

  26. Ronin, your watch is a knock out. The color looks accurate, nothing like this yellow on NDT's site. So is your dial a different color or it just doesn't look right on the site? highoeyazmuhudee, care to share your recipe for baking? Star69, Please be sure to let me know next time you run into a pristine gen for "little more / same" as a Yuki dial.
