Guys in regard to updated links THE DEALERS DO THIS ON OTHER BOARDS it is not a function of the staff here as you can see few do it here or stop in here for that matter. So buy from dealers who give us personal attention like Toro above or Supermirrors who is always updating his stock. For you noobs these guys are small so you get personal one on one communication highly recommended till you know the ropes.

So I am very new to this hobby . only a couple of months in .... bought about 10 watches straight off - Faux Chrono jobbies / Quartz reps - all sub $110 watches .... Now I am selling them off and already ordering $250 - $300 watches !!! at first I thought, oh well there cheap enough its just a bit of fun .... and now its .... oooo I like that lume ...... ooo those hands look better ---- ooo that strap is much nicer ..... .. oh dear ........... time to start hiding things :-) Familiar story Im sure !! My Omega parts arrived! This was a good deal, parts for 45.5mm Planet Ocean. Gen dial, crystal, hands, and crown for $120. All of the parts are in great shape, now waiting for a gen bezel from MrPap, then assemble the UPO

The best rep you can buy is one that the watch dealer needs to take a second look at, or tells you he needs to remove the back to be sure. That my friend is a good rep

cajun as I hope you are surmising close you can get, gonna fool somebody who works on movements NOT going to happen. Just get one that appeals to you and no big tells on the wrist. You need a Gen movement to get by a watch smith even then there are other tells inside so do yourself a favor do not focus on it.

That Seamaster looks a lot better. The movement ring and the auto weight look good. The movement itself is still just as incorrect though, but there's more shiney bits to disgrace a casual observer. I think a better question is is this friends opinion of you more important than the watch a itself and how much you like it? I mean if I was buying a rep for a partner, I wouldn't try to hide the fact it's a rep, I'd show them the choices and let them choose maybe 3 and I'd pick one from those 3. If its a friend who's just using a gen watch to prove how rich they are, or boasting about how good they are at recognising reps, buy whatever you want and keep on reminding them that its a rep, a lovely rep that looks and feels good to wear, and you've got enough money left over to buy a new BMW. It'll drive him nuts
