  9. Hi and welcome, the DSSD looks perfectly fine to me, would wear it. Undecorated movements are the most reliable and the best. For waterproofing on these You just need silicon grease as You´ve already opened it on the o-ring of the backcase and on the o-ring of the screw-in-crown (You may carefully use a toothpick with the crown pulled out totally). (Cousins.uk or ofrey in the states sell specific ones). Do some research on the rep HE-valve, I think (unverified) it´s the only not waterproof part (normally) and has to be glued tight from the inside (which means releasing the stem and unscrewing the movement). I use specific reps for swimming regularly. Just to mention, tolerances are bigger than on gens so it might leak around the glass, the tube of the crown might not be watertight etc. but normally this is not the case, the grease is a must.

  10. If that is his claim, then he just committed fraud. If you have email communication from him requesting the service, then clearly that will be in your favour. But I'm not telling you anything you don't already know. I'm very [censored] off after reading this.

  11. Wow Nightwatch. I guess you are suggesting that we should all just accept anything that comes in the mail and either fix it ourselves or enjoy it as a project to fix since it's OK to send a piece of crap to another member? Somehow that just doesn't sit right with me. Hope I'm misreading you, and call me old fashioned but I don't accept your premise at all. I know that I and lots of others could probably fix it and move on. But a lot of others can't and shouldn't be expected to be watch smiths every time they buy a watch from M2M sales.

  12. I may be flamed for this, but I believe that the watch was substantially misrepresented by the seller. It's very difficult to imagine that the movement came loose, although it's possible. The website link was in my estimation a definite deception, why send someone to a website that shows a much better quality watch than what is being sold. I believe that we are going to have to take a much more proactive position as to policing the sales areas. mistakes can happen, but it is incumbent on the seller to represent the watch, strap, part, etc. as accurately as possible. Being a raw nob, you were pretty easy to take advantage of, which is not all your fault. Older more experienced members should try to make sure a new member is aware of the condition of a sales item, not use that as an opportunity to take advantage of their ignorance.
