  1. Except for caseback, everything is gen. Gen AP 3126/2184 movement as well as a gen midcase, bezel and bezel screws. I tread softly along the fine line separating raving insanity and lucid moments of ingenuity. The issue is I've no idea which is which mostly.

  8. $130000??? Did he buy it from John Mayer? The seconds hand is wrong (tail too long), as is the insert for being a gen. The T on the dial is not bold enough. I hope your friend did not get burned. It may be a Franken with a Rolex movement but there are many clear tells in this picture.

  9. Looks to be of recent (Asian) vintage........ $130, without knowing what is inside, would be a more accurate value.

  12. I didn't hear any rumours, I just thought they only accepted WIS illuminati with impeccable references. I did hear there is a secret forum on the dark net that knows who makes the best Sub ;-)

  13. There is a bit of a partisan attitude sometimes, but the forums are closely connected. The mods from one forum can be found as members on the others, I know they work closely on security and scam prevention. Anyway the way I see it, we are all just guys with the same hobby, so yeah we are all family.

  14. I'll take a look. Thanks! That may be the route to go. Build something that has plentiful options and parts while researching and gathering for a 6542.

  21. Oh thanks for your overly kind statement bro. I guess it's just a personal change of taste. And now I find the ROOs a tad too loud for my progressively subdued tastes. Who knows, I will return one day to annoy you all again in this area. [emoji6] I tread softly along the fine line separating raving insanity and lucid moments of ingenuity. 22. I read a lot of old posts here. I see what guys have done and keep doing. There are some big hearted people on this forum. Nothing fake about that. Actions make a man, not possessions. ........ some covetable watches though ;-)

  26. Working on reps also requires a specific skill set most 'regular' watchmakers don't have. But make no mistake! Working on reps is problematic and challenging. You can't turn a lime into a melon and sometimes parts that fit together at one point won't anymore the next time. That's the risk when you take apart a rep. Please do adjust your expectations when you send out reps for repair. It is not as risk free and straightforward as genuines, no matter how skill full the watchmaker is. Mark
