  1. Well Fellas, It's done!! ...sorta The parts arrived earlier this week and I did a final assembly. Everything went together as planned and she is a stunner if I do say so myself!! I am quite happy with how it turned out!! I do plan on doing some fine tuning. The Brevet + crown still needs to more shaping to look the part...but I could not be happier with the dial and hands and how the bezel ties it all together with the case work. I think it really works on the Jubilee brace I finally now know what all the fuss is about with Gilt Dials....They are hypnotic and you catch yourself admiring it alot during the day and how the light plays off of it.. It is quite tricky to capture but I think I managed pretty well. Thoughts and opinions ?

  3. Yes, Viet cases are the best base but it has a price tag... However: deep reshaping of a cartel case by shaving it and engraving it brings you pretty near that price ! There are no big savings to do that way if you want your built to be presentable... That case belongs to a client. It was retailed by Phong and was really worn. I did not do anything between the lugs. I reworked the sides and carved the CG as those details were off. As well as the top of the lugs: the big flaw of Viet cases.

  4. Excellent choice by using a Vietnamese 1665 case as a base for reshaping I only swear by Vietnamese cases for vintage builds They have the right general proportions and thickness (especially for the 1675), and they all have the correct crown/stem/tube height (unlike the Cartel / BP vintage / JKF watches which are designed to house the 2836-2 @ 2.25mm stem height or the 21j) Vietnamese cases might cost $800 each for a complete case set, but it saves me from headaches and paranoia from getting called imo I wished there were more options between the price jump of a cartel/ BP vintage / JKF and a Vietnamese case. I could already confirm that a Helenarou 5513 case is very inferior to my Vietnamese 5513 case

  5. Sure Micky but it's on the slow boat so to speak guys, I ship regular parcel to UK usually. (99% of time) I have found they tend to go unnoticed in the sheer volume of parcel going from conus to UK and there is no tracking faster method after leaving the states anyway. (cost is double!) Now I ship raffle watches so guys are happy whenever they arrive because they won them this method might not be best if you sold it to someone.
